They are pretty much saying there will be a bombshell coming out today or soon. I guess its not enough, these news whores want to stick a knife in JT's heart and twist. For one, I advise people to watch or listen to Dan Patrick's radio or tv show. He used to be a former employee and ESPN hates him, as he does ESPN. He will let you know how they drive the media and can dictate what is believed or not.

tOSU will survive this, but to hell with ESPN, they are more of a TMZ deal.

ummmm guys, I hope at some point you all realize it's not just about JT, but the program itself. Tressel was an easy target for some.

Can you please just call him Ray Finkle from "Ace Ventura"?

Jim Tressel/Ohio State is his Dan Marino. He probably has voodoo dolls or something like Ray Finkle had.

He obviously has an axe to grind but he's spot on regarding Tressels blind spot to the QB that brought him down.

for all you HOOLEY lovers out there!!
Sorry, not interested in paying his salary with clicks, nor am I sure why others are. Certainly not illegal but still bizarre.

There are a lot of legitimate criticisms to be made right now, many of them scathing. Hooley doesn't have a legitimate bone in his body, which is why he's been reduced to an online writer.

So many people said that Woody had to go. Perhaps he did.

It has all been so familiar. What I recall most was the strident moral positioning behind so many calls for Woody to be ousted. The puffed chests. The moral indignation. The claims that the University was bigger than any one man.

Of course it is, but coaches like Hayes and Tressel come to a team only once or twice in a lifetime. The righteous indignation and puffed chests deflated sadly over the next twenty years when they realized what they had pushed out the door. How many of those same people cried when they saw Woody dot the i. How they cried for just one more year of his magic.

Well, I realize that universities are about education, not sports, and there are much bigger things in life than football. And I'm not saying that Jim Tressel did not bring this onto himself. But, I strongly suspect that a golden era of football has just closed at Ohio State and that those who wished for this will be every bit as sad as those who wished Woody away a third of a century ago.

Well, to whats been made publicly available regarding the NCAA investigation, nothing has tangibly changed from March to May 30th. Same investigation that's ongoing. What has changed was the media frenzy driving much speculation and allegations. Having Tressel resign is simply the most parsimonious solution to Ohio State's various media/compliance problems. Occam's Razor.

I'm disappointed that Ohio State's undying support of Tressel ended this weekend. Unless new charges are brought ahead, I would have rather tOSU taken the beating, show the collective strength as a university to deal with the penalties and then have him retire of his own accord. Now it looks like they just wanted to go with the easy way out. However, I reserve the right to change that opinion if new information/charges/accusations are found and made available.

This.

Unless some pretty damning evidence comes out about improprieties that Tressel directly knew about, this is the result of a lynch mob-mentality sports media that is never satisfied until they tear someone down after hyping and building them up. All of these supposed infractions that people are trying to dig up...disgusting.

you two are both delusional. he was in breach of contract, and lied directly to the NCAA. TWICE. it's not about a lynch mob mentality. it's about following the rules. he didn't. period. how can you possibly defend his actions? in the entire history of Ohio State football, they've never been forced to vacate a win. until now. forget 2010. it will be erased from the record books.

Significant investigation into TP underway: Dispatch

The NCAA and the Ohio State University's compliance office are conducting an independent investigation of Terrelle Pryor amid allegations that the star quarterback may have received cars and other extra benefits, sources told The Dispatch today.

Pryor has been questioned by OSU compliance officials in the past, but sources said this is the most significant inquiry to date. He already has been interviewed at least once by investigators within the past few weeks, sources said.

Pryor and the cars he drives have been an issue since he arrived on campus three years ago. Pryor has been connected to more than a half dozen vehicles during his time at Ohio State, according to sources.
