nice find

I honestly thought HHH was gonna win it right there...I thought HBK would influence it, and once that happened, I thought the streak may have been dead..but once he kicked out, I knew they would still have the streak live

Thats the problem with the Undertaker at WM, you already know the ending of the match. Sure, they'll tease him losing each and every year, but you know he's going to win. Theres no losing at this point for him. He should have jobbed to Randy Orton at WM when Orton was known as the "Legend Killer." Orton got over on his own eventually, but it took years.

Don't get me wrong, I grew up in the 80s and 90s watching Taker. I was a fan and I still am...but they really should have let the streak go after awhile. I fully comprehend he's a tenured member of the roster, but many years he just shows up a few months before Wrestlemania...he's not a regular part of the roster and he doesn't show up at all the house shows, so what has the company gained the last 10 years from that? Why continue adding to the ludicrous streak and not use it to get over one of the new stars? Every other wrestler jobs out at the end of their career to get over the new talent, it's tradition and makes good business sense. A win over the Undertaker would do a lot for a young star's career.

Maybe I'm a little biased here, but I've grown irritated with "The Streak" the last several years. There were so many opportunities to end it and bring some unpredictability to the Undertaker WM match, but they blew it. After HBK jobbed to him at WM a few years ago, the 2nd or 3rd match he's lost to him there, I thought there could be an outside chance Taker would return the favor the next year in the rematch. Nope. I was kinda done at that point as that was HBK's last match and he pretty much beat up his body and put on a hell of a show in both of those matches. I didn't even bother to watch the same series with HHH the last two years. I'm sure both were good matches as HHH is a good worker in the ring, but I already knew the outcome and it just kind of killed it for me.

I could see Lesnar/Taker but don't think it will happen since Lesnar went after Cena...

also I think that would be dumb for the WWE to do..if Taker were to lose it, it HAS to be to some young guy that can be put over and would just soar him to superstar

There is literally no young guy on the roster right now that I could see being in line to end it. Orton was the one guy I would have been okay with ending it, but now he doesn't need that on his resume, so I say you just have him retire undefeated.

Not losing to Orton was a stupid move on WWE's part. As mentioned before, Orton did eventually get over on his own, but it took some time. They could have had his father, Bob Orton, or anyone else help cheat against Taker for the win. That would have drawn even more heat if the he got the win and ended the streak by controversial means.

I would have been okay with Taker ending the streak against HBK too. HBK has jobbed to him a number of times in the past, not just at previous Wrestlemania's. Taker was also responsible for the back problems Michaels had in his career. In the '98 Royal Rumble casket match with Taker, HBK was dropped on the casket in an accident which lead to his initial early retirement two months later.
