Wrestling Chat (WWF, WWE, WCW, etc.)

So apparently Bill Simmons used the phrase 'testicular fortitude' in a rant on The Dan Patrick show in an unprovoked rant against the NFL and Roger Goddell (for going after the Deflatriots) and supposedly ESPiN has canned him.

:slappy:
E$PN broadcasts the NFL, so after he was suspended last time for trashing Goodell, he had to know what was coming...Foleyisms or not. Now we'll see if he goes after the network too

Samoa Joe debuted with WWE tonight on their NXT broadcast. I don't know why, but NXT is so much more entertaining than Raw and Smackdown. Pretty awesome moment
It's because they actually wrestle and don't spend 45 minutes letting non wrestlers talk. It doesn't have stupid crap like El Torito (a midget Mexican wrestler who acts like a bull) and on occasion the announcers call the names of the moves being performed rather than burying the guys in the ring by talking about other angles.

The smaller venue helps as well. Much like ECW back in the day, you don't need all the fancy glitz and production if you're putting out a great product.
Its also the teaching aspect of it. The people are eager to learn, and HHH is fanatical about it. On that E:60 thing, they showed how much time they took, for example, just working on the positioning of Bray Wyatt's lamp as he walked down to ringside. I think that really keeps them all on their toes, and they are never just going through the motions.

I also think it's leaking into the wwe, as there are better performers coming in and hopefully the style will change a bit. I mean, how great is Cena right now? I'm really digging what they're doing with him.
Credit to him for embracing being upper midcard for now and letting the kids and Orton battle for the title.
