Wrestling Chat (WWF, WWE, WCW, etc.)

I think it absolutely had to be, and should be, developmental. That doesn't mean it isn't great as a stand alone show. But I would argue that the number of coaches and vets they have, combined with them controlling airing and production, makes this the greatest situation wrestling has had in the TV era...its the equivalent of the territories in the house show era. They can cross rosters and do anything they want...I hope they keep it that way.

Agreed, and I hope they do a lot more of the cross rosters. I haven't been excited for a Cena match in 29 years but I now will be against K.O. The idea of a Zayn vs. Rollins match or Samoa Joe vs. Reigns, Nation vs. Lesnar (not that he'd ever agree to that) would be great ideal matchups but without the watered down effect the Smackdown vs. Raw era had.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with NXT....is the focus to make it a minor league/developmental platform, is it to make it essentially an ECW type of sister league, etc.

I will say the sole reason I keep my network subscription is because of NXT and I can't be alone in that.

For me it's all about the NWA stuff, now that I've gone through all the Legends of Wrestling panels (my favorite thing ever) and the WCCW stuff. If they add CWA, USWA, SCW I will be in heaven.

Just saying, regardless of the state of his body right now, I doubt he'd come back for one more match and do the job to a guy he wouldn't job to 10 years ago. Lesnar is such a stiff worker, I doubt Austin could even handle any kind of match with him even if his body was in better condition.

Inclined to agree, Mike, but I'm not swayed by the whole "doing the job" thing. I doubt Austin really cares about that. There's a huge payday there for him, and he knows it. If it were to happen, it would be a hardcore style match with haymakers and blood. Win or lose, the show would end with a stunner and SCSA flipping off a prone Lesnar.

The main reason Austin walked out on the company back in the day was because he wouldn't job to Lesnar on Raw. Doubt he'd job to him now either.
Eh, sort of true. It wasn't jobbing to Lesnar, it was jobbing to Lesnar on free TV with no buildup. It was similar to Jericho and Goldberg...Y2J has said he welcomed the asskicking as long as the money got made. SCSA knew, rightly, that his days on top were over, and he knew the writers were going to have him crashing down the card instead of using his star power to make money putting guys over. I don't think he'd care about losing to Lesnar now...by I agree with everyone that his body can't take a stiff match with all those suplexes
