Once Orton lost, I pretty much new it would never end. You're exactly right, at that time, it would have been the perfect person to end the streak. I did enjoy the 4 matches with HBK and HHH. For guys that old to put on the show they did, I thought it was outstanding. And they did great jobs selling. THere were a few times when I thought Taker and the streak were done.

Yeah, I did enjoy the HBK and HHH matches. Those typically ended up stealing the show (I did end up missing last year's Wrestlemania though). Part of me was hoping Taker would drop one of the matches to either of the guys. Would have been a nice feather in the cap so to speak to end retirement on. Seems like all HBK did was job at the end of his career, especially at Wrestlemania, despite putting on superb performances. For being "Mr. Wrestlemania," I think he only won 2, maybe 3 WM matches from his return in 2002 till his retirement and two of them were against Vinnie Mac and Flair. The Flair one almost doesn't count, the one against McMahon certainly doesn't.

Last year's match with HHH basically made that Wrestlemania (it was the one with the 8 second World title match :roll1: )

The funny part is they tried to make it seem like that was the end of the thing, but I don't think anyone knew how close HHH was to retirement himself.

I think they dubbed it end of an era cause it was the last time those 3 would be in the ring together, and they were last of the attitude era

Well, until the return of the Rock. Kinda odd to think that the Attitude era wasn't all that long ago, and no one is really left anymore. A lot of those guys were in their prime then, and wrestlers have been going into their early 40s or longer in recent years.

yea, I think a lot of those guys were also popular well before the attitude era, but just skyrocketed when that came (HBK, Taker for example were pretty big before then)

The attitude era was technically over 12 years ago though

watching Raw for the first time in a long time, glad to see it opening with Taker, HOPEFULLY talking about Paul and not a hype for WM

curious how much he'll be able to stay in character, can't be easy having the dead man persona and not being emotional talking about it

stealing the Urn, was that CM Punk, or Kamala and King Kong Bundy?......

Bad news for Kamala recently :( A year ago Christmas eve he had to have one of his legs amputated due to high blood pressure and diabetes. Then in April of last year there were further complications and he had to lose his other leg. He was still wrestling in independent circuits before this to my knowledge. Sucks to think of all the legends I grew up with are passing away and having major health issues, he seems to be in good spirits despite this.

Theres a video linked here after his first surgery:
