Rule is 30% of the games and none after the midway point. He is good on the latter. The former is tricky. It doesn't look like he played against Colorado (correct me if I'm wrong) so he has 4 games in. We'd have to play for the conference championship and go to a bowl game (if it even counts) to tip him below 30%.

It's 30% of the games, but that's rounded up, so if he had only played in 4 games, and they were all in the first half of a 12-game season, he's still eligible for a medical hardship waiver. No CCG or bowl game would be needed for 4 games to be considered 30% of the season.

And he didn't catch a pass against Colorado, but he was listed as a starter for that game. So he's already played in 5. In that case, the CCG and Bowl would be needed to have 5 games count as within the "30% rounded up" guideline (14 times .3 = 4.2, rounds up to 5).

But since he already redshirted, it wouldn't be considered until after he finished his 5th season with the team, as a potential 6th year medical hardship waiver.

Receiver Verlon Reed was back at practice after being absent yesterday. Still in recovery mode from his injury last year, he did take part in drills, but sat out during the scrimmage portion of practice. While he was in there, he looked fine and didn't show any signs of injury.

Meyer pretty much ruled Reed out for the spot during his interview today. He said the long striders such as Devin Smith, Verlon Reed, and Michael Thomas don't fit the role. I'll have to look and find the exact quote.

How great was it to see Verlon on the field Saturday. Love seeing him overcome that injury. He was really looking good last year.
