WR Torrance Gibson (Green Bay Blizzard)

Just heard a part of the press conference. Meyer said the suspension was not due to anything regarding football, rather it was a decision made by the school. He also said he disagreed with the suspension, but it wasn't his call.

Coach Meyer just stated in his press conference that he disagrees with the suspension. It's not football or athletic department related.

It was female-related...and I don't know all the facts but I do know I had a player go through something similar and even if he is not at fault it will prevent him for participating with the team until it is straightened out. It's really unfortunate if it's true and really unfortunate if it isn't. Either way, the university has to protect itself and all involved.

Thank Jameyst Winston. The spotlight on Universities is intense now that the documentary on college campuses is so popular. I made my daughter watch it before I dropper her off, and she is attending tOSU.

Now evidently since so many cases have been swept under the rug, a guy is going to be guilty before proven innocent.

For some reason, I do not think this is finished and if Urban flexes hard enough the school may come to it's senses and actually do an investigation first. Or maybe they have and there is something to it? We will see.

I don't feel like this is a girl-related issue, or at least something involving assault/rape on a female. If Urban is willing to come out and publicly state that he doesn't support the suspension, I feel it may be academics or maybe something minor in criminality.

I'm now curious if this can get worked out... if Urban doesn't agree with it I'd assume he's going to seek out an appeal. GOOD to see UFM going to bat for his player that got the short end here.

Never know... maybe he can get back.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I like the University going AGAINST the football coach. I'd rather see them err on the side of caution (assuming the female issue is in fact the cause) all the while shedding any perception of an authoritarian football coach.

Torrance will have his opportunity to come back and can still be a major contributor to the program.

If it's any kind of sexual assault accusation, I find it doubtful Urban would come out so hard against it.
You can bet your bottom dollar that if it had anything to do with abuse of a female then Meyer would not be against the suspension, let alone publicly disagreeing with it.

If it's a sexual assault allegation, I can't imagine Urban publicly disagreeing with the decision. I just can't. That would be inappropriate.

I do not think so because he will be out of school for at least this semester because he has been charged with a violation of the student code of conduct. That means if he came back next year he would be a Jr. because they burnt his redshirt year last year.

A lot out of posters should wait until the facts come out because there is a lot of speculation that I have read..
