12/11
By The Bank....Visited by multiple coaches this week, including Urban Meyer yesterday. Talks to Coach Meyer weekly & talks about replacing Braxton Miller. Also discusses his interest in LSU & Miami. Plans on taking all his officials next year & making a decision after.
Get Wimbush or Nunez in the fold, then wait out Gibson??
That would be a great QB haul...
Plantation American Heritage quarterback Torrance Gibson is something special. Here's part 6 of my thoughts from state title games.
Junior Torrance Gibson is something special. The Plantation American Heritage quarterback helped led his team to a state championship. In blowout fashion they cooked Green Cove Springs Clay 66-8. Gibson took the read option 78 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the game and he was brilliant all afternoon

Does Torrance Gibson remind you of former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor? His most recent highlight tape brings back memories: Buckeyes recruiting“I am going to go to a bowl practice when they are down here,” Gibson said. “I have built a great relationship with Ohio State coaches, and I talk to Urban Meyer, Tom Herman and Mark Pantoni a lot. They are really cool coaches and I can’t wait to see them when they are down here.”
A couple things jump out at me when comparing him to TP: This particular tape is very similar to most of TP's high school film in that you see alot of deep bombs that showcase arm strength, but hardly any short-intermediate throws that require more accuracy, which ended up being one of TP's weak spots early on. The other is they both have explosive playmaking ability with their legs, which apparently is always handy in a pinch.
With an athletic quarterback, one of the "progressions" is "run". The last thing you want to see is an athletic quarterback looking lost in the pocket, ignoring running lanes, trying to find his fourth receiver. And the problem with TP was not only his passing but decision making with the ball early on. And that shows on Gibson's tape as well. Both are more inclined to run than check their progressions and be a true qb.
