WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

How many commits have we had that ended up pulling the rug from under us and signing with someone else on NLOID?

That is a good question, not sure. I wonder how many TRUE "silent verbals" have backed out. And I'm not including players that give good reason to have the coaching staff confident.

But let's keep this to Terrelle.

The OSU staff does a great job in regards to this situation. They advise kids to think it through before they decide and make sure they figure out where they want to go before they announce. I think that is why we don't have as many decommitts as other schools. Other coaches across the country pressure kids into early committments, then they take officials to other schools and decide they want to go elsewhere. Tress encourages going to see as many schools as possible. He says if OSU is the place for you, you'll know it.

He'd have to have something really special going on elsewhere not to commit here. An unbelievable Oline coming in to go with the studs that are already here. Now look at the skill players. Unreal! Posey, Stoney, Torrence X2, Sanzenbacher, DiLillo, TWashington and now Lamaar Thomas. Theres also plenty of rumor, inuendo and speculation about more studs ready to come in at any minute. Surround yourself with talent and determinated people and you'd have to try to not succeed.

Boy things are looking great in Columbus!

Only a rule that keep clock running slows down Jeannette in 77-6 victory

Jeannette, the Post-Gazette's No. 1 Class AA team in the WPIAL and PIAA, is 8-0 and the Jayhawks have forced the mercy rule in all eight games. Under the rule, the clock runs continuously in the second half when a team gets ahead by 35 points or more. Eight games. Eight mercy victims.

"We saw film on them and we knew they were a pretty good team," said Jeannette star quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who accounted for 221 yards offense on just eight plays. "We just knew we had to take care of business."
Pryor completed 4 of 5 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns and rushed three times for 69 yards and a score. He and his teammates seemed to be a little more pumped about this game. They finally thought an opponent might give them a tussle.

That's a real interesting question Mili. I asked the same thing in a PM a few months back. I don't even think that we have many commitments back out period, let alone on signing day.

I can think of quite a few who led the coaching staff to believe they were coming and then went elsewhere (at least that is the case if you listen to the insiders - which I do) but who never made their commitment public. Few of those came down to the last day, but several were late in the process and hurt our recruiting strategy with other kids.

Richard Washington is the only one I know of who back doored us on LOID iteslf.

This was supposed to be the game in which Jeannette's starters finally would get a chance to play four quarters. Once-beaten East Allegheny surely would give Jeannette a game last night -- at least for a while.

But all East Allegheny turned into was victim No. 8. The Wildcats had the yellow tape around themselves in the second half as Jeannette turned McKee Stadium into another mercy scene.

Jeannette walloped visiting East Allegheny, 77-6, in a WPIAL Class AA Interstate Conference game in front of a packed house.

"They're a complete team," said East Allegheny coach Dennis Edwards.
