WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

It's a pretty poorly kept secret

It appears obvious that the Bucks have the upper hand with Pryor, everything fits. It seems we are all pretty much calling it a day and christening him a Buckeye. Hey, I'm all for that, but how confident can we actually be? Does WVU still have a shot? Florida?

It appears that other teams are starting to resign themselves to the fact that OSU is Terrelle's likely destination. If I am not mistaken UF took 2 QBs last year (Brantley and Newton) and also took in a JC transfer (Waggener). WVU offered Star Jackson before he committed to Alabama and has verbals from JJ Dorsey and Chris Smith (both listed as QBs) as well as an offer out to BJ Daniels.

I'd say the writing is on the wall...

Is there any chance that Terrelle might commit before NLOID if the other schools give up on recruiting him? It seems like he should realize that other highly rated athletes might follow him to whatever school he picks.

(Okay, probably wishful thinking on the early commit, but any chance?)

WVU is still going after Star Jackson hard as well... There's talk that he will visit...

As long as everything trends the way that it has been, it seems to be just a matter of time with Pryor...

There is a chance he could just be done with it soon anyways... We'll see how his visit goes in a couple of weeks for the Wisky game...

I've been saying for awhile that I think TP will decide before NLOID...no inside info but just reading into how his recruitment is going.

I think it would make sense for him to commit before NLOID, after taking his visits.

I mean unless he is really torn about where he wants to go, an early decision would seem to be the right move for him, as it would allow him to focus on football/basketball/school, and not have to deal as much with recruiting stress.

Also, as it's been mentioned by some others before me, it could also push some other recruits (*cough* Mike Floyd *cough*) over the fence towards tOSU's lawn, knowing he'll be there.

Hell, maybe Pryor can commit early, and then Julio Jones and Darrell Scott will decide to join him and create the ultimate recruiting class of all-time! :tongue2:

All this talk about the recruiting class benefiting from Terrelle commit now rather than later is a bit misconceived.
Terrellle could be a silent commit or be commited in his own mind (I have absolutely no inside info by the way) and he can talk with other recruits as he pleases. Like the brew crew he can recruit strong for us in the position that he's in right now.
The thing that a lot of people seem to forget is that a commitment is only a commitment. Nothing is official until NLOID. Regardless if a player has committed or not, we are relying on their word until they sign.
So why not announce today, we need to look no further than Glenville. Ginn Sr asks his players not to announce so that the other players on the team get more looks (and so they don't rush into a big decision).

Best of luck to Terrelle. I hope he makes the best decision for him, and then I hope that decision is in line with our hopes. Announce today, or announce in a few months, the world will not stop

How many commits have we had that ended up pulling the rug from under us and signing with someone else on NLOID?

That's a real interesting question Mili. I asked the same thing in a PM a few months back. I don't even think that we have many commitments back out period, let alone on signing day.

Richard Washington may be the last NLOID 'deserter'. We have guys like Wallace that supposedly have us at top to eventually verbal elsewhere, and surprises like Ben Martin - but once a verbal is offered to OSU it's been pretty strong stuff. I am sure that has to do with the way Tressel encourages recruits to take their time on the decision.
