WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

What's sad is that the guy is right. You watch Appalachian State and Oregon beat down Michigan and then you stick to your 1920's offense? "Spread offenses? HA I'll show them!" Classy move by Pryor to option an open TD to a teammate, I have to respect that.

ESPECIALLY with the weapons PSU has at WR to throw to (like Derrick Williams) and how Austin Scott was underpreforming. Borderline lunacy, if you ask me.

But yeah. Back to Pryor...

Derrick Williams is SO overrated it's not even funny. He's had what, 2 1/2 years and he's got only 2-3 receiving TDs. But you're right, back to Pryor.

He'd be nuts to go to PSU, it's not a system that fits his strengths. OSU, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia all make so much more sense for him. I've said for the longest time he's a Buckeye lock because you guys offer everything he wants. JT tailors the offense to his players' strengths, you're always a top 10 team, your basketball team is the hottest program right now besides UF and he can play right away at both (I'm not 100% sure about bball actually). Paterno is stuck in the 50s, and it costs PSU games annually.

He put it all into that TD run to upset OSU... and enshrine The Rail. :slappy:

He will see the floor right away imo (as a backup)... if he can provide a physical presence at forward. OSU is thin at PF with Babbitt's decommit (08), Hunter graduates, and Koufos is talented enough to contemplate one and done.

Im not sure if takkle.com is anywhere in this thread - but looking at TP's throwing motion, I've decided that I like it. For all the comparisons with Vince Young, TP doesn't emulate Young's "push" throwing motion. In fact, on his throws on this film ( takkle.com - Terrelle Pryor ) he looks to have a decent compact overhand motion. He also does not have the same long windup that some have criticized Troy Smith for. I'm only pointing out Smith and Young because those are two of the most popular QBs to compare TP to in this thread.

He's obviously not Peyton Manning yet, but he's closer to having a great motion than I think people give him credit for - certainly closer than I initially thought. Because he's so used to running, he doesn't plant his feet as well as he should, and he holds the ball too low on his drop-back, but with some decent coaching, and when playing behind a line that will give him some more time to stand in the pocket (Block O?!?!?), it looks like his motion can be easily fixed...

...anyways, its not like I wasn't already excited with the prospect of landing Pryor, I just never really looked at his motion this closely.

I had a chance to watch him in a game on television. I think you're ultimitely right, that the motion will need to be corrected. I do think he short-arms his throws, and he will learn to set his feet which will provide greater accuracy and efficiency in the long run. Considering his short-arm throws as a negative, the positive outlook is that his arm is naturally strong. To make some of those throws with less than stellar mechanics is truly a feat. I sincerely think he has subpar mechanics but has the tools to be great with some solid instruction. tOSU staff has proven to be developmental experts, and his future at tOSU glares potential greatness. It will be difficult to break the habit of tucking the ball too regularly since he's had so much success doing so in the past. He is an exciting player.

If the rumors on Thomas are true, is that a huge indicator about where Pryor stands since it has been noted that they are in contact alot?

Perceptive you are...

Terrelle Pryor is on the verge of crossing Penn State off his list, if he hasn't already. Does Penn State absolutely have to sign a quarterback in this class, or can we afford to wait until next season?
Terrelle Pryor is gone. Do yourself a favor and forget about him. He's going to be a Buckeye so get used to it.

State Penner's seeing the writing on the wall.
