WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

I think Ginn will practice some extra during bowl week at corner... but I don't think that has any bearing as to where he will be next year...

I think next year has everything to do with how well the other guys perform... and where he is needed most...

I don't see why he couldn't be just as dangerous as he is at PR and WR on defense. Think about it... every time he makes a pic there is a very good chance of him taking it to the house against a lot of offensive players that arent used to tackling. just some food for thought.

Leaving Ginn out of the corner discussion going into next year it's Youboty and a bunch of unknowns if EJ is no longer around, and what we know of EJ isn't all that good. I don't think Michael Roberts is the answer. Brandon Underwood looked good in the North/South game and the Big 33 but he's unproven. Shaun Lane is awfully small. Malcolm Jenkins will be a true freshman. Ginn may have to play corner, the position he prefers IIRC. I suppose if Gamble could go both ways there is no reason to believe Ginn can't. Hopefully some of our young receivers can step up to allow the move to happen but you have to find ways to get Ginn involved offensively if he does end up a starter on the defensive side of the ball. We could use another corner in this class.

Edit: Despite his struggles against Manningham, Jamario O'Neal may still be in the mix this fall as well.

Except in certain situations I can't see it. That kid needs to touch the ball as much as possible, and there just wouldn't be as many touches at CB and there would be at WR. I am sure that he and the coaches will do whatever is best for the team, but as someone earlier said, as long as people step up this offseason it shouldn't happen.

Jamario O'Neal joins the Bucks next year. - Got to figure him as an early starter as a DB.

I still feel Ted Ginn Jr. needs a diet of the 3 R's -- WR, KR, PR.

Next year we will be scary fast and scary good on both sides of the ball.

I think Ginn will play in the secondary and will set up the vBet shortly.

Woa, what's wrong with EJ? I've clearly missed something along the way.

Lots of rumblings and rumors - from grade issues to being 'high maintenance'.
Not to mention he struggles playing the position.

Shaun Lane at CB is an interesting idea, hadn't heard of that before. I guess Patterson goes in there too. This really is a major concern heading into next year. I'd hate for them to take Ginn off of offense, but if they do, they'd have 2 of the best lockdown corners in the conference. Hopefully Jamario comes in and surprises, but I've heard he projects as a safety.

I think he will be practicing at CB during these extra practices and if he is one of the two best CB's they have next year he will play at that position. However, he will ultimately play wherever the coaches think he is the most effective and is of most benefit to the team.

If anyone ever has had the talent to play both ways - Ginn is the man. I think he could be much better than Chris Gamble and that's obviously saying a lot. It all depends on his stamina... I'd concentrate him on offense and special teams, and use him on D in passing situations.
