WR Taurian Washington (official thread)

Apparently, Taurian is just now getting over an illness that kept him from going full go around the start of spring ball. He supposedly had lost a lot of weight but I'm not really sure on what exactly he was down with. I'm hoping this is the year when he can finally put it all together. There is no question that the physical tools are there. Every year we see him in the spring game looking like a beast. In fact, I remember hearing chatter between Posey and Taurian about who was going to be the number one receiver. I'm confident that both Taurian and Duron can emerge to give us a solid 4 wide.

Some might be tempted to say that he is at a fork in the road; either he will be the next Bam Childress or the next Terry Glenn.

But Terry Glenn's emergence was completely out of nowhere, at least to me. T Wash having a break-out senior season after everything he's been through would be one of the best "redemption songs" ever for the S&G. I really am pulling for him and for what it's worth; I think he'll get it done.

Another great spring game for T-wash. It just hasn't translated over into the regular season so far in his career. I wish the guy well, glad he decided to stick out his Sr. year instead of leaving. I hope he gets a chance to make a few big plays throughout the season. But lets be realistic, unless the Buckeyes pull a 2006 Troy Smith w/ 4 and 5 wide sets, there just aren't going to be a lot of opportunities for Washington to get many grabs w/ Posey, Dane and Duron all ahead of him. Like I said, hope he has a great Sr. year.

I like Duron but TW has the lead if he can hold onto it.

Do u really think so? Because Twash is 1 dropped pass away from being 5-6th string, especially when the frosh step in. I'm hoping he can make his senior season a memorable one, his annual spring game to regular season roller coaster is getting old to fans, and I'm sure himself as well. It has to be frusterating knowing that u have the talent but can't put it all together.

Taurian Washington was around during bowl practices, has been around all spring, and will be around all fall. As of right now, he has a pretty sizeable lead over Duron for the third WR spot. He's not 1 dropped pass away. Those dropped passes (despite what people think) were not the main reasons why he dropped off the depth chart. It was his lack of effort in blocking that led to him not seeing any snaps. It was referenced once in one of JT's midweek media sessions.

His Rose Bowl performance blocking downfield did alot to regain his team-player image, and a conversation with Tressel which ended up in him returning for his senior season have given him a fresh slate.

And in all honesty, I'll take Washington who does the job in the classroom and has the seniority right now. I hope he has a stellar senior campaign.

His Rose Bowl performance blocking downfield, along with a conversation with Tressel ending up in him returning for his senior season have allowed him to have a fresh slate, and that is how this situation can be viewed.

In all honesty, I'll take Washington who does the job in the classroom and has the seniority right now gladly.

Taurian was open all day long on Saturday and the dropped passes belonged to Posey who managed to ring up three in little more than 1 qtr of play.

The person most likely to have suffered from the exhibition was Blauserman who underthrew a couple of deep balls and drilled Nate Oliver for what could have been a pick six late in the game.

I echo what the others have said. I'm pretty high on Duron and I understand that TW has been a spring baller more so than fall, but JT himself has said that TW is higher on the ladder, so I'm taking JT at his word. Someone posted on the prior page of this thread that perhaps TW could have a Roy Hall type of senior year. I'm thinking the same. Hall's numbers weren't huge by any stretch, but he was a serious contributor...I can see TW taking that path, which would be fantastic.

Washington seems to be great at getting separation on his routes including the deep ones. I think if he can make the catches this year, block and run his decoy routes hard he will play a big part in the passing offense. He has a very high ceiling and could be special. I am rooting for him to really break out and create a three headed monster. We are uber talented on OFFENSE. I hope we really expose teams with our talent on that side of the ball. I tend to believe JT will give TP the keys this year. Go Bucks

T. WASH LOOKING LIKE THE SOLID NO. 3 ... Coming into fall camp, one of the biggest questions for the Ohio State offense was who would step up and become the third receiving option behind junior DeVier Posey and senior Dane Sanzenbacher?

With just 16 days until the Buckeyes open the season against Marshall it's beginning to become clear as to whom that player will be ? senior Taurian Washington.

Washington has looked impressive all through camp, and appears to be quarterback Terrelle Pryor's favorite target down field.

About time, the kid just needs an opportunity.

I'm one of T Wash's biggest supporters on this board and I can tell you that an opportunity was never lacking for him. This has been a matter of getting his priorities straightened out, having an attitude check, and finding his sense of urgency. All signs point to the light switch finally doing more than flickering. We heard and saw great things from Taurian during the Rose Bowl, especially about his perimeter blocking. This camp, Taurian has been a guy mentioned in a lot of camp updates as someone putting in EXTRA time doing things like catching passes after practice and putting forth his best effort every day.

Call me bold, but I'm saying T Wash has a breakout year. Probably has about 650 yards receiving. He's one of Terrelle's favorite targets and as long as he can keep the drops low (Posey has a bad case of the drops also keep in mind) he will have a fine season baring there is no drop off in his practice effort and his other obligations.
