Shaw wideout Tyrone Williams has good news for Ohio State fans and bad news for fans of the 10 teams scheduled to play the Cardinals this fall.
Williams (6-7, 215 pounds) said Friday he is leaning toward Ohio State and hopes to make a decision after the first week of the football season, which opens next Friday. In addition to OSU, the schools he is considering are Akron, Cincinnati, Kansas, Michigan State and West Virginia.
"I like the coaches down there and the players,'' Williams said of Ohio State. "They've got a good football team.''
Scout.com ranks Williams as the 33rd best wide receive in the country and rivals.com ranks him 44th.
The bad news for everyone else is that Williams has grown almost two inches and put on at least 15 pounds of muscle since last year, and he feels stronger than ever despite having surgery in October to repair a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament in October.
"It feels better than it did before I got messed up. Running track helped a lot. It made it stronger and helped my confidence,'' he said. "I think I can get way better this year. I'm more focused on winning. This is my senior year and I've got to show what I can do.''
