WR/RB Lamaar "Flash" Thomas (transfer to New Mexico)

After reading that update, I'd say it's 50/50 between Illinois and OSU.. I'm worried about his desire to play RB.. Illinois is offering that, and we're not..

That Tenn. visit could also be interesting.. sometimes kid go there and are extremely impressed..

Illinois is the biggest threat at this point, so I agree with Wad. However, I could certainly see Florida making a run for him. I just hope he decides during season like he says he will because the longer the process goes for an OOS stud, the lower our chances go.

florida has a lot more things they can use to sell this kid..much like the finch kid out of indiana last year...florida really uses all they can to hook kids..esp out of state ones...if it comes down to osu-illinois then i have to feel pretty good about things..agree with TENN...they seem come on and to grab kids out of nowhere

i don't want to sound "stuck up" or anyhting but illinois????? Come on. If it between tOSU and Illinois, I'd like to see the spread, odds, or whatever. ILLINOIS is HORRIBLE.

After researching them I see they aren't as bad as I thought. they have beat the Buckeyes 9 times since 1980. But most of those wins were back in the day. Last time they beat the Bucks was in 2001.

As far as the NFL goes the only Illini player I can think is any good is Simeon Rice.

Lamaar will see through all the quick talking salesman bull crap.

I know there's usually not much "Fight" in the Illini, but the Zooker can hold his own when recruiting.

Last year's class: (Scout rankings)
5 star WR - Arrelious Benn - Washington, D.C.
5 star DE - Martez Wilson - Chicago, IL
4 star DT - Josh Brent - Bloomington, IL
4 star WR - Anthony Morris - Harvey, IL
4 star OT - Jack Cornell - Quincy, IL
4 star OT - Craig Wilson - Chatham, VA
4 star DT - D'Angelo McCray - Jacksonville, FL

plus a slew (8) of 3 stars.

Also, don't forget Urban Meyer used mostly Zook's players back in January. I grant you 4 of these 7 kids are from IL, but Illinois didn't seem likely to land all those guys.

"back in the day" = "Cooper Era"

Cooper lost his first five, and six of his first seven, games against Illinois. He was 6-7 overall against them. Take away the Cooper record and we're 54-22-4 all-time against Illinois (and that's after starting out 5-12-1 against them).

Illinois recruiting............salesman ship.
Like a Hyundai salesman, the price looks right, but do you really want a
Hyundai?

There's alot of those Hyundais on the road today.....alot of them. I wouldn't sell Illinois short just yet -- if there's anything Zooker can do, it's recruit.

Here's to the good guys landing Mr. Thomas. Would love to see him in the Scarlet & Gray!

GO BUCKS!!!
