WR/RB Lamaar "Flash" Thomas (transfer to New Mexico)

Trick plays never seem to work for us, the only time I can remember an end around actually working for us was with Ginn against Notre Dame.

Although I suppose this wasn't a "trick play", I thought lining Ginn up at TE against Michigan in '06 for a TD was a well drawn up play.

Anyway, with as much as I heard about Flash, I'm surprised not to have seen him play yet. Has he gotten in at all?

He is the answer to the trivia question, "Who caught Pryor's first ever pass for OSU?" I can't remember seeing him much beyond that.

News is news right?

FYI, don't count on seeing Lamaar returing kicks anytime soon. He was just taken off 2 Deep at KR

The only reason I posted thi is because people think Thomas is "Ginn" like, so some automatically thinks of/wants him at KR

I don't see much of a Ginn comparison personally other than #7 and he is fast. I just wanted to see him take some kicks back because neither Boom nor Saine has done anything...I just don't see either one being a threat to take one back. Flash was a heck of a returner in HS and I was hoping he could translate that here...that was why I wanted to see him back there. Is he still injured at all?

That was Holmes not Ginn...

As for Trick plays they don't work at a high rate for any team, but when they do they work for big plays, thus the reason why they are ran, and only ran once or twice a game if that....

I would like to see Thomas a little bit in a ShotGinn formation but we have Small who is the same type of player that has more experience...But I also would like to see him lineup in the ShotGinn, motion out and try and get a mismatch against a LB or S and try and get deep, or motion him back into the backfield and run the option with TP...Or just one of the 70+ ways they told him they were going to use him during recruiting, and if they aren't going to use him much, why not redshirt him?

Can someone explain the ShotGinn? I havent seen us run anything all that creative or unique out of that formation.. yet I always see people bring it up, saying this player or that player should be used in the Ginn role... To me the Ginn role, was a normal WR..

WE used some interesting stuff in the Oklahoma St. game, but after that, what exactly has the ShotGinn accomplished?

the reference to the shotginn is when the flanker is lined up like a wing back. not to ginn playing qb

It was definitely Ginn who caught the play-action TD pass on 3rd (4th?) and short. Holmes was in Pittsburgh for the '06 season. :p

2nd and 1

edit: 2nd and inches if I remember

After the 1st down run, I remember looking over at a good friend and him looking right back saying " they should go deep"
