Indeed, he has tremendous talent for our 2nd/3rd WR of the bench. All these looks Small is getting in the "Ray-gun" sets (3-4 WRs spread, Ray in the shot-ginn) makes me wonder if #4 is going to be involved in the scUM game trickery this year. It's like having two Ted Ginn's on the field! If Michigan fans want to talk about cheating...

I watched Arkansas and Auburn last weekend. Arkansas had a nifty little play where they hid a wr behind the o-line and snuck a run to him. That play would work great with Small hiding on the left side of our O-line. He is small enough, fast enough and low enough on the depth chart to pull that play off. Even if they do see him, it's a legitmate end-around run that might work without the trickery. That is my wish play for Ray Small this year.
Compare to Ginn's size as a frosh:Small looks....well...small! I'll bet he's 160. 165.
Your concern for his weight is well documented, but why worry about him being used too much, Taos? He's the 5th/6th WR. Even after Teddy & Roy go pro, he'll still have to beat out Hartline for the 3rd WR spot.He will wear down pretty quick if he gets used too much!
I'd be more interested in 5-10 for now. He doesn't have a huge frame, and 170 should help him maintain his speed.Lock him to the training table and put 20 pounds of muscle on him.
Agreed... Teddy has great speed and is elusive, but Small seems to have better explosion when changing directions. He's gonna be real exciting because he is a natural WR.
He actually looks like he's more elusive than Ginn!
