WR Noah Rogers (transfer to N.C. State)

https://247sports.com/college/ohio-...-Collins-Desmond-Ricks-Troy-Bowles-201885899/

WR Noah Rogers (Ohio State signee) – Ryan Day said on Signing Day that all four of the wide receivers that the Buckeyes signed were going to make an “impact” in 2023. We’ll see if that statement holds true, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Rogers worked his way onto the field as a true freshman after watching him run around on Sunday. Rogers had two of the more notable catches during 1-on-1s as he went up and over Texas signee Malik Muhammad for six points and then beat Georgia signee Justyn Rhett for six more.

Finally, Rogers sealed off what was arguably the highlight of the 2023 cycle for Ohio State with three wide receiver commitments in three straight days in June. It’s hard to think of a top-50 prospect nationally as underrated, but the playmaker from the Tar Heel State may be slept on in some recruiting circles because of the presence of Inniss and Tate.

“Noah from down in North Carolina, again, recruited him from the jump,” Day said. “There were a couple of twists and turns along the way, but he was pretty loyal and had a big-time season. I think you're really gonna like him and just his personality and makeup.”

Hartline said Noah Rogers has been a freshman that has stood out immediately among the rest. "He's a good football player. Noah is a great individual. I don't know if there is a person who asked me more about my family through recruiting than Noah Rogers. He is compassionate, he has high give a s— and he really has a ceiling that cannot be calculated."

BETTER KNOW A BUCKEYE: NOAH ROGERS HAS THE SIZE, SPEED AND CATCH RADIUS TO QUICKLY BECOME A DEEP-BALL AND RED-ZONE THREAT

IMMEDIATE IMPACT

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Rogers has the size, speed, route-running ability and athleticism to be a mismatch no matter where he lines up. Pair all of that with his hand strength and ability to create separation against various coverages, and Rogers has the potential to be a weapon from Day 1, especially in the red zone.

Not only has he proven to be a tremendous receiver with the ball in his hands, but Rogers was also a strong run blocker in high school, a skill that could enable him to stand out among the other underclassmen early on.

Ohio State’s depth chart at wide receiver is loaded, but Rogers’ size and big-play ability could give Hartline reason to carve out an early role for him in the offense.

LONG-TERM IMPACT

With Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka and Julian Fleming all candidates to leave for the NFL draft next year, the door will be open for Rogers to compete for a starting spot in 2024. Harrison and Fleming’s expected departures, in particular, will leave the Buckeyes needing more playmakers with size on the outside.

Even if it takes a year or two for him to crack the receiver rotation, Rogers is ready to contribute wherever he can while continuing to improve as a player and getting stronger in the weight room.

“Zone 6 program, they throw that ball,” Rogers told 247Sports of Ohio State before he committed. “All their players are developed and it’s also the best of the best.”

Noah Rogers is getting most of the hype from spring practice and this is the guy I'm watching as my sleeper. When everyone hyped Fleming, Scott and Egbuka a guy named Jaxon came busting onto the scene. This could be the guy out of this group to do that. Innis and Tate are going to make noise too no doubt in my mind. I just loved his film and the way he worked

Great run after the catch.

In a couple years the endzones could be referred to as "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood".

Albeit that was partly poor tackling, it was an incredible display of athleticism and gets you excited for the next 3-4 years of Mr. Rogers. Hell of a play.
Agreed, but I'd also say more heart than athleticism. It takes both to be great and I loved seeing it from him this early; sometimes it's either there or not and it can be difficult to teach heart.

“I feel like it went fairly decent,” Rogers said regarding his first spring as a Buckeye. “I’ve seen a lot of stuff that is a great reason why I came in early to college, and I'm looking forward to building on to that in the fall.”

“I think the freshmen as a whole have a seriousness about them, they have a purpose about them … the whole group has done a great job, and Noah especially, he's done a great job,” Hartline said when asked about Rogers in March. “He has a high G.A.S. (give a shit) factor. He just really has the ceiling that's not calculable. He can be that good. It all comes down to what kind of work he puts in. But again, he shows every bit, he wants to put the work in. So, great young man.”

He has a high G.A.S. (give a shit) factor.
