Smith had a great game at the Polynesian Bowl...

The four-star wide receiver from Dayton (Ohio) Wayne looked to be as ready for college as any prospect in the game. Smith, nicknamed "Blue," has length, soft hands and can overpower cornerbacks with his strength. He had some of the best catches all week, including a big touchdown in the game where he made a move on a defensive back to waltz into the end zone. Smith has signed with Ohio State and, like Ruckert, looks ready to step into the Buckeyes' attack.

He was the guy that proved the most to me at FNL. Had slot-like skills at 6'5+. See my short report on him from FNL on 7/24/17 (page 8)

I'm really excited on what LCS brings to Zone6, if for no other reason because he's extremely unique with his size and skill set

I think he can form a heck of a tandem with Martell with his size and separation skills. Kind of like Manziel and Evans when they were at aTm

SUPREME '18 SUMMER ENROLLEES START MATRICULATING AT OHIO STATE

Eight members of Ohio State's vaunted 2018 class, the Supreme 18, early enrolled back in January.

The rest of the reinforcements started arriving in Columbus Saturday with four-star defensive end Tyreke Smith, four-star safety Josh Proctor, and four-star linebacker K'Vaughan Pope marking the first wave of summer enrollees.

Ohio State Football 2018 Freshman Report — WR Blue Smith

L’Christian “Blue” Smith came to Ohio State from Wayne High School in Dayton. He was ranked the No. 5 athlete in the 2018 recruiting class and the No. 126 player in the nation overall. Smith signed with Ohio State over offers from Alabama, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Penn State, and others. As a sophomore, he caught 54 passes for 1,311 yards and 17 touchdowns in helping lead his Wayne team to the state championship game.

2018 Season

Blue Smith enrolled last summer and when he arrived at Ohio State, he found himself in a loaded wide receivers room. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 207 pounds, Smith is tailor-made for the X position. Unfortunately for him, that is also the same spot manned by Austin Mack, Binjimen Victor, and Jaylen Harris.

Mack and Victor commanded the majority of the reps throughout practice and the games, at least until Mack’s season-ending injury in game eight. The injury didn’t clear a path for Smith or Harris, however, as Terry McLaurin came over from Z and performed very well.

Smith played in a game or two last season and ended up redshirting.
