WR Johnnie Dixon (New Orleans Breakers - USFL)

Don't feel there's room for him. Its a shame too, but samuel is taking his spot, and getting McLaurin shows we don't really need him

I don't think that will be an issue. Samuel and Dixon will both be Buckeyes if they want. Caoch Meyer will make it happen. It will be a good problem to have if so.

I don't know. We took Ezekiel, Dontre, Jalin, James Clark, and technically Corey Smith last year, assuming Gareon stays on defense.

This year we have Parris, Malik, McLaurin, and Lonnie, and Lattimore could end up on offense as well. I just don't see Noah Brown, Samuel and Dixon on top of that.

Yes they play different positions and roles in Urban's offense, but we have limited scholarships and the trenches win championships. I would rather see us take another couple elite linemen. Hopefully, whichever two of those three want in pull the trigger quickly.

You also have to factor in that the official 2014 class wont solidify until NSD. As much as I love the players on our current class, I'd expect some changes. Some players may change their minds somewhere down the road. Recruiting a few extra play makers will soften that blow somewhat.

We have 16 commits so far with room for 5-6 more, I don't see the staff bringing in dixon when we already have 2 wrs who play similar to him in johnson and mclaurin. And if the staff sees him as a pivot, we currently have campbell and samuel leaning our way. Why would dixon be needed when we can still get prince/mavety/bookser, mcmillan, lattimore, smith, etc

They can always find a way to work the numbers out before Fall 2014. Johnnie Dixon is highly wanted by the staff, and might even top their list at WR. They will not turn down his commitment if he makes it, even on signing day. All IMO of course.

I'm not saying the staff doesn't want him based on talent but solely on numbers and the fact that we already have or are in the plans to get similar talent. If dixon wants to be buckeye, he may have to wait a little bit. But at least there's still a lot of time until NSD

With 26 commits already, how can the hurricanes still have room for more commits, and very few players left because they were so young last year.
I'm hoping these guys aren't a package deal or the bucks are in a bad position because we probably can't fit in both, and Rudolph hasn't seemed interested in us in a very long time.

Dixon's really good and is probably a guy we would try to make room for, but I don't know if he really fits into this class that great. We took 3 speedy under 6 feet WRs last year and already have a couple good ones committed in this class.

I know we were lacking these types of players when Urban got here, but the real need seems to be for a bigger outside guy. Especially since some seem to think Lonnie Johnson eventually ends up on defense.

Basically, I would like to get Dixon but won't really view him as a loss if he ends up at Miami, which looks likely.
