WR Jameson Williams (transfer to Alabama, Detroit Lions)

I wasn't expecting him to have the length and frame that he does. Heights tend to be a little generous high School, so when I see six one and a half, you kind of expect six foot or little below.

He's pretty darn close to 6'1.5 to 6'2.
He had to be one of the first actual freshman to lose his stripe no? Surprised since Day said he was behind a bit.

I'd love to see him have a role in this offense. Even if it's just to come in the game 5x to run a fly route.

He could be lethal in the return game. This is an area there is no reason we should not get alot of production from. We have wayyyy too many athletes to be as mediocre in the return game as we have been. I'd give him some looks there. With McCall and Hill being so vital to the offense do we risk injuries on ST's with these two? Give some young studs a chance.

Truly enjoy this aspect of the game.....while others get the pub, being 5* and all, the 'lesser lights' come into camp, work their a**es off, learn the system and blossom. How many times has tOSU (and other teams), seen a 3* come in and become a star, replacing that 4 or 5* player, who may have peaked in HS, gotten hurt, etc? Uncovering their talents (like the return game), and plugging into the place where they can shine has gotta be a real treat for the coaches. And part of their job as teacher. Anyone got an example of this?

Pat Elflein = 3* All-American and won the Rimington award as best center

I agree... it's crazy we haven't had more ST touchdowns if you think of all the speed we've had.

There's such a premium on securing the ball though.

I wonder why in garbage games we don't give our explosive people more reps with it though.

There were many who he thought might be behind technically, but blew some socks off at the All American game, where everyone was complimenting not only his speed but also advanced route running and hands. Made me think if he is willing to block, then he'll see the field quick.

And I wouldn't call him underrated necessarily, he was a top 100 nationally ranked 4 star. Maybe he was overshadowed by Wilson though.

Yes I hear you on this... rightfully most are focusing on Wilson but this guy has speed at the WR position we haven't had since Devin Smith and Ted Ginn.

It's not even fair this guy is 7th or 8th on the depth chart right now.

There's a few kids HS tape I was amazed with over the years.

1. Carlos Hyde
2. Braxton
3. Jamal Marcus
4. Our QB for the 2021 Class
5. Jameson

We had two receivers run 4.3 in the combine last year.

How does this apply to Jameson? He was a 4star, top 100 nationally and top 15 at his position...

I can agree, that many thought he was a one trick pony in the mold of a young Ginn, who could only run 1 route, and that was a fly. Williams certainly knows the route tree, but he may be a casualty of too much talent at his position. I hope he can play, but why risk the year if we don't have to. He would have a much clearer path to the field after a RS year. A 2020 WR rotation of Wilson, Williams, Olave, Harris, Babb(:sad2:, wishful thinking) and whomever rises to the top of the 2020 WR class is going to be insane
