WR James Louis (transfer to FIU)

Orlando Sentinel - Atlantic WR James Louis spurns Gators, commits to Ohio State by

Pretty interesting stuff about how, according to Louis, Urban Meyer told him not to talk to the media about the commitment, all the while not returning calls.
I like some of the idiotic comments regarding speed. Ohio State has had six receivers drafted since Meyer took over and Florida has had five. Ohio State's average draft round was 2.33 and Florida's is 3.40 (past four drafts).

But I guess the NFL likes slow players.

Nothing but sour grapes. Nothing like reading comments from a bunch of spoiled college football "spectators". College football "fans" are a tad more rational.

Welcome JL

Watched the video.....WOW....speed, explosion, power, vision, change of direction and his defensive stuff is just as good. Welcome to the Buckeye Nation, can`t wait to see that explosion on the field. Holmes clone if I have ever seen one. Possible true two way player and at the very least, he will be a KR, PR and a WR. How is this kid not a 5 star is beyond me. Go Bucks

Hey CBrian, I'm with you. All the measurables say he should be a 5*. Tell you what, I'll bet you a nickel that he will be one by the time Tress & Co get through with him. Another Santonio maybe.....

:gobucks3::gobucks4::banger: And a couple of :groove::groove::groove:as well. Go Bucks!

How many Florida wrs actually do anything in the NFL? I know the past 20 years there have been Florida wrs that tear it up for the Gators, but don't do jack in the NFL.

Don't know much about him....but good luck to him except the 3rd Sat in November.

A commitment reported on the first page of a recruits profile!
Has this ever happened before?

BPers have only used 6 posts to debate, dissect, complain whether he is worthy of a vaunted tOSU scholie.

He only had 30 offers from D1 schools?
Stop this runaway coaching staff that has lost touch with its fanbase!

Pryor may have been on the first page too, can't locate the threat though. :tongue2:

I would say you would have to go all the way back to the Class of 1981 and Cris Collinsworth to find a pro bowl caliber WR from the Gators.

Something about guys named Cris who were born in SW Ohio that makes them excellent WR's and broadcasters ...

Madden 2009 was enough to make me absoutely hate Collinsworth. Praying he's not in Madden 2010.

Not sure if you mean Collinsworth is from OH, but he went to HS in Satellite Beach, FL, IIRC.

Born in Dayton Ohio moved to Florida as a child. Moved back to the area when the Bengals drafted him and he's lived in NKY ever since. Super guy from everyone who knows him personally can attest.

The other of course is our own Cris Carter, Middletown.

But back to James ...

I for one was absolutely shocked to see the commitment out of the blue. And I was pumped to see the news as that's a nice highlight reel and I could certainly see the Santonio comparisons.

Why should this talented young man wait for Urban Meyer to get his ducks in a row? This young man made a decision based upon where he was needed and appreciated. Now, I hope that he follows through with that decision and becomes a essential member of our beloved team. The vids. on this kid are great he has great hands and I cannot wait to see him in person.
Go Bucks!

Welcome to the Buckeye family, James!! Looking forward to seeing you in S&G!

ESPN (free)

Film of James in action.

James looks great on offense, great on defense. Whichever way he plays, scheme-wise he's a perfect fit at tOSU. Looks like a potential game changer in the same fashion as Corey Brown in last year's class.
