He's free to make the change because Damon Webb, who also wears #7 and is on punt return with Marshall, is suspended. That Marshall is clear to take the number "for the remainder of the season," doesn't sound promising for Webb's status coming out of his (presently) one-game suspension.

I thought it was an indefinite suspension:

The Buckeyes will also be without sophomore defensive back Damon Webb. It was announced before last Saturday's game that Webb has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of athletic department policy.

Webb had been working as Ohio State's starting nickelback. Cam Burrows played in that spot last week.

Jalin, Braxton, Curtis, Elliott and Cardale have all fumbled the ball this year. Add in the INT's and we have committed way too many turnovers this year.

The positive is he's getting open consistently, making big gains, and consistently threatening to house punts. I'd actually like to see him on KR.

The negative is obviously ball security.
