WR Grant Schwartz (official thread)

Yeah hopefully Grant gets that offer. I would love to have him not only because of his great ability but he is a great kid and sounds as if he loves the Buckeyes. If Peterson came all the way out to the OC then we must be getting close to an offer. Good luck with the season and please enjoy the beauties of California for me I can't get out to OC untill spring:(.

We're pulling for you all. If you come to CBus and need help with anything (information, transportation, etc.), let us know here at BP. As you know, the great thing about being a Buckeye has to be the community around us. Anything we can do to make the transition easier (on any of us) becomes a priority of our "tribe". To get recruits into our family that are already in love with the university and our community- well, that's icing on the cake.

:osu: With only one safety spot this year tOSU is being picky and making sure all their ducks are in a row.

Herein lies Brian's advantage, IMO. I am not convinced that Henton will actually end up on campus (grades). I have to believe that the OSU staff has it in the back of their mind that Grant could be an option at QB. Not a primary option, not a "recruited as" option, just an option. That is what happened with Troy Smith and I can see them giving the nod to Grant because of that flexibility. I have posted before that Grant and Bill Nagy are the two offers I want out there. And not coincidentally, they are both players that might help at multiple positions.

Edited for typos only.

Thanks!

Let me just say that on behalf of Grant and myself, thank you ALL so much for all your kind words and the absolutely INCREDIBLE support Grant gets from BP posters. Wow! Grant does read them and feels so lucky I can't even tell you. Amazing. From someone like myself, whose dream it was to become a Buckeye and was lucky enough to have that dream come true and for Grant who has that same dream/goal. The inspiration he gets from you all is immeasurable. He is playing his ass off I can promise you that. I'll try and get Mililani some tape. That being said, we need to get the tape to the staff:biggrin: first. Hopefully, that will be VERY soon on both fronts. On another note, a special thanks to Mr. Incredible for his contributions:biggrin: :wink2: to this thread. What a smile!!

Brian- It is our (Christina and I) pleasure. If I ever took her off of my post I'd be banned from the board. She's quite the popular girl around here!

As a message to Grant: If you want it man, take it. Go out there on the field and claim what is yours. Every Friday night you step on the field of glory, soak it in because those, my friend, will be some of the best times of your life. However, never sell yourself short. With the family support you have you can do anything. None of us in this world can do it alone, and with determination you can do whatever you put your mind to. I am confident tOSU will offer- and when you get to camp you can't think as a freshman. You have to think as if Mr. Such-and-such has your spot. I played with a guy in high school (mid 90's) who went to tOSU and claimed the spot immediately. Some MLB that wore #45, you might know his name. Fortunately, he didn't think himself as mortal at tOSU. Unfortunately, he found out he was when he finished his career with a devastating injury during his stint with the Patriots. Hope this isn't too much of a lecture, but I would love to see a young man of your quality come to our great university. I didn't have the opportunity to play at OSU, so I played at a smaller school. But you will. It's an awesome opportunity. Your father isn't a lucky man, he worked his tail off for his opportunity to play at the greatest school in the country. Pete didn't take a 5 hour flight to say hello. The Bucks need quality people- I'm sure you've heard Tress' saying of "You win with people." We'll be proud of you no matter your contribution to tOSU, and your father will as well. However, you should also be proud that you have the family to support you- blood or not.

interesting... Nevada has spoken... that's good news for Grant...
would love to see this kid don the Scarlet & Gray. he knows what it tradition it carries, knows how special it is, and wants to be a part of it. couple that with the fact that he's a helluva football player and those are the perfect ingredients for a Buckeye!
