The Buckeyes had a scare in practice today when backup receive Grant Schwartz hit the ground awkwardly after making a diving catch. Schwartz was transported to university hospitals as a precaution, but a team representative said no serious problems were detected after examination.

He'll be OK:

Schwartz was rushed to the emergency room, where he recovered quickly.
"A nerve got traumatized," Tressel said. "He's up and about and walking around and doing fine. Going to be sore for a bit, but he'll be fine. Those are the moments on a practice field where, whew, you don't like 'em."

Of course, several of the players were not working on improving past performances. Defensive lineman Dexter Larimore, offensive linemen Bryant Browning, Connor Smith and Josh Kerr, tight end Ricky Crawford, wide receivers Taurian Washington and Grant Schwartz, kicker Devin Barclay and long snapper Jake McQuaide all saw their first and perhaps only chances to work out for scouts come on Pro Day as they were not invited to the Combine.
