Film (Rivals)

Diasappointed to be honest. I expected Duron to be a great route runner, but he rounds off his routes constantly. He doesn't make any big plays and shows average-decent athleticism. He certainly has nice size and shows good acceleration when he begins to run his routes. He is a physical player and blocks very well. He has great hands and his combine clips show it better than the film. Another thing to keep in mind is that Aquinas plays great competition. I think Duron can develop into a good WR but he needs to improve his route running and get faster. 3 star prospect is about right. In my own opinion though, there would be no offer if he wasn't Cris Carter's son. In any event, I will still be excited when he picks the Bucks.

I was actually fairly impressed. I didn't really see any evidence of him rounding routes. To me, it didn't look like they ran any sort of precision routes.

With that said, it's obvious he's not a burner, but that's not why we're recruiting him. I definitely see him as a Robiskie type receiver. Won't kill you with size or speed, but still finds a way to get the job done.

The video is pretty impressive when you consider his team was a heavy running team and they made no efforts to get Carter in space. On pretty much every play he's operating within a lot of traffic, which really impresses me.

I was impressed as well. He looked like a big, athletic target that played in the confines of his teams offense. He seemed very active and provided yards after contact. Granted the video is a small sample to make comments on.

He only had 22 catches last year so it is kinda hard to get a read as we basically saw everyone of his catches...It wasn't like he was struggling to get open, he was playing good competition, and he created good separation...Watching the combine film also shows that while the routes may be rounded a little bit in the film, they are tighter now...

Considering who his father is, I figured the routes would be tighter. However, I heard he was running good routes at the combines. But I forgot to mention that I think Aquinas runs the ball a ton, so it's tough to get a good read as you mentioned. Everything I have heard from combines and in person accounts has been good, but I just thought the film wasn't impressive. The All-American game will be a good test for Duron.

As for his "precision" routes...on two out-routes, he rounds them off pretty bad and a slant. I have never heard of any team running rounded off out routes and slants. A drag, for instance, wouldn't be a precision route. I will give you that not all the routes on his film were precision routes. I think his seperation will only improve with improved route running skills. There are good things he shows on film but I'm just stating the bad as well. Luckily, his speed and route running can, and have been improving. I still think Duron will be a good player but I'm just wondering if he would even have an offer if it wasn't for his father.

Hate to say it RB07OSU but your just a highschool kid. ESPN, OSU, and LSU are high as hell on this guy for a reason, the recuiting analyst for osu, lsu and espn have been recuiting for 10+ years half of your life, you dont have much credit.

Here what ESPN saw in his film..

"Carter is an excellent receiver prospect with a great set of hands. He is tall, athletically-built and should continue to add bulk to his lean frame to help break the press and compliment his deep ball skills. Displays soft, reliable hands. Consistently catches the ball away from his body and adjusts well to the bad passes thrown behind him. Shows great production after the catch: does a good job making the first defender miss and breaks tackles in the open field. Flashes good deep ball skills. Will fight for the jump ball, is not afraid to go over the middle, but does need to become more consistent in the redzone. Demonstrates good route running skills. Does a nice job of breaking the out route back at a slight angle allowing an easier throw for the QB and eliminating chance of interception; needs to stick defender a little more and burst out of cut. Displays good effort and finishes every play; comes back to ball well and possesses good field awareness. Smart receiver prospect: does a very good job of reading zone coverage and finds open areas. Shows toughness and competitiveness by coming back for blocks in open field: a good, physical blocker. Carter possesses very good hands and plays with confidence. He makes defenders miss in the open field and gets the important yards after the catch. Speed is one area of concern but like his Pro Bowl father Chris, he has a knack for making the big play and moving the chains."
