WR Dane Sanzenbacher (Official Thread)

Dane was terrific! Was this his breakout game? I hope so.

Break out, hell yes! He seemed to be rather humble after the game and said he wasn't expecting it (local TV had an interview with Dane). Humble and unassuming. We are just beginning to see what he is capable of in the big games. He did it in HS and he's doing it at tOSU. Sorry, if this sounds repetitive, but we are in for a great ride. :osu:

He is gonna be dangerous in the slot in years to come! Man it's good to see him come back healthy and produce. To think of it I think he's been the best reciever all year IMO. He doesn't have the catches/yards, but when he touches the ball he seems to do the most with it.

I just don't see him playing in the slot next year. I think it will be him and DeVier as 1 and 2, with Small in the slot. I could be wrong but thats just my guess.

We'll still have Hartline, who I can't see getting jumped by Ray, just on history. If we go to more of a split out look with one back I see Bhart 2, Devier 1, Sanz in the slot. He's just so elusive in getting space in the middle of the field. I could be totally off base, but I think his agility speaks more of a slot. If Hartline goes, or regresses in the off season then I would see Sanzo move to 2 and Lamaar to slot. This is all speculation of course, but that's just my view

Agreed, he catches nearly everything. What a player! He's earning his schollie this year.

Dane quoted after the PSU game regarding getting down after the loss.

The-Ozone, Ohio State Football, Wrestling, Softball, Basketball, Hockey, Baseball and More

wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher said it was up to the Buckeyes not to let themselves be in a position of having so little room for error.

"It's never as simple as putting it down to one play," said Sanzenbacher.

"There were a lot plays where we could have been better, blocked our assignment a little bit better, caught and ran a little bit better, so you can't blame it on one play."

Yea, I was thinkin both Brians were SRs. My bad! Your thoughts are better then mine! lol I don't see Hartline going pro so you most likely got it locked down!

This poor kid's head is like a magnet for huge hits!

Yeah, and I saw him mentioned somewhere as a potential punt returner...I think the Daner is subject to enough hits already.

Tough kid. I had my doubt early on, but he's certainly developed into a really solid receiver. He could really be a Wes Welker type.

I am really impressed with this kid. you are right about comparing him to wes welker type in our Offense. Just too many head to head hits though.

Agree, but the head hits may qualify him for a Boom hat. Dane plays tough and lives for another day - playing for a second pair of Gold pants next week at the Shoe!

Illinois manned Vontae Davis up on Sanzenbacher in the slot a few times today while leaving Hartline and Robiskie to be doubled by the outside corners and safeties. Shows the respect he is getting from opposing coaching staffs, although it could also be a product of the perception of Pryor's throwing ability.
