Idk where you saw that he rotated 5, at best he rotated 4, with Tate being the 4th. Stover was tied for 2nd in receptions. It’s true that Hartline hasn’t rotated since he took the position. But I’m hoping like @Mike80 is saying, that Kelly can override him at times and utilize more of a rotation because it will be harder to keep guys on the roster over time.

Xavier played plenty last year.
My guess is that he’ll play 5 again this year.

Kelly rotates a ton. I'm betting there will be more of a rotation this year than the 3 years previous.....

I really hope when we hear about Kelly having more control, that we see it with the rotations. There's no reason not to being running 6 out there, if not more. A 17-game schedule is a long, long season...hopefully the defense gets the same memo. They're talking the talk, but we've heard that before.

That's in no way a rotation. I hope they actually have one while Hartline is coaching, because they certainly have the talent. But it will be the first he's done it in quite some time. 2019 was the last time that Hartline had at least 5 WRs with 20rec, since then only 2 WRs dominate the catches.

Ohio State really only had a rotation in 2018. And measuring catches is probably not the best way to gauge the rotation. In 2014, Evan Spencer only had 15 catches in 15 games. He played a good amount of in game minutes. Also, 5 WR’s with at least 20 catches had only been done like twice in the decade before Hartline.

I was going to post this, but I'm confused by the deal. Is he getting paid from the MLB club? I didn't know that a professional franchise could provide NIL deal

Catch quantity is a play calling philosophy. Day called plays for MHJr, Egbuka, Stover and Trey. If Day was calling plays in 2024, I would guess 95% of the plays would be for the 4 receivers and 2 RBs. It’ll be interesting to see Chip‘s play calling.
Xavier played enough to get 20+ receptions. Just needed 2-3 plays/game aimed at him.

Be honest, I haven’t read into the legalities since seeing this a while ago. But apparently it’s legit and the money is coming from the White Sox organization. There’s has to be a clause that it can’t be an NFL team or some sort of city team targeting a kid for nfl purposes.

I get your point but catches do not equal playing time right? The QB throws it to who he chooses so it's conceivable guys played a lot more than they were involved. Snap counts would be a better indicator imo.

Fair enough, that's an even better point.
