WR Brian Robiskie (Official Thread)

So Why?

Nice Article by the way on Robo.

So what was the knock on Robo coming out of High School? Why was he merely a two star?

Sounds to me like he's working on his strength and speed.

Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 190 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.52 seconds

Robo will be our No1 receiver next year so unless someone else develops a great deal ie. Dukes. He and Hartline will get most of the receptions. How much Small contributes will be seen. I was not happy with his production after he took that big hit and haven't heard anything as to why.

A - Smaller program HS football Division 3.
B - Signaled early a strong interest in other programs (Penn State, Miami-FL), so not many offers coming from others. Offer sheets build interest / ratings.
C - More hype that year for Mario Manningham
D - You know Scout derates Ohio Prospects don't you?
Luckily he's got Hartline and Small to keep him from that 1,200 mark
That's true. The chances of putting up huge numbers at wide reciever under Tressel will be slim since he likes to spread the ball around and get younger guys involved. Still, he could have big games against the UW schools, scUM, and in the bowl and he'll hear more and more people whispering in his ear to leave.

I doubt Boeckman's "lack of experience" is going to play as much of a factor as many think...

Agreed. Krenzel won 14 games in 2002, with only one full game (at Michigan) and two half-games (Illinois and South Carolina) under his belt. And its not like the ball is just falling into Boeckman's lap. He has to beat out Schoenhoft, who I believe is capable of leading the Buckeyes to victory, and Antonio Henton. If he can do that, I think he'll be fine.

Back on topic... I think that the only thing that will hurt Robiskie is that there are a plethora of guys who can play wide receiver. He may be in the lead of them all, but if he takes a play off, I have to believe that someone else will step up. If he isn't getting his numbers, it's because someone else is, I believe.
