Colin Cowherd said Wilson is the best QB in the Big 10, so it has to be true

I usually don't agree with much of what Cowherd has to say, but he's right on this one.

Despite evidence to the contrary.

As I posted above, Wilson's running numbers are nothing to write home about, and his 17/11 TD/INT ratio in a very weak Pass Defense conference doesn't exactly terrify me.

Teams with solid defenses should have no more trouble with Wilson than they already would have had against Wiscy. They have a solid O Line and a solid running game. Adding Wilson just means they're not going to be completely inept at QB - but I'd rate him as more of a Jeremiah Masoli than a Cam Newton, as far as transfer QBs go.

ACC defenses are terrible and Wilson's numbers against good teams are not good. Also, if he was so great, NC State would have tried to keep him. Lastly, give me Persa any day over Wilson. Quarterback play is certainly not the Big Ten's strong suit, but Wilson is not the best and Cowherd is a [censored].

I would take pre-injury Dan Persa as well as Kirk Cousins over Wilson.

I would take Persa, Robinson, Scheelhaase, Early in last year T Mart, and maybe Cousins over Wilson. Marve, Vandenburg and Brax could pass him by end of year too.

Don't leave out Moxie from State Penn... oh nevermind... he sucks now.

It is funny to see ESPiN fall over themselves proclaiming Wisconsin a BCS national title contender and clear favorite to win the Big Ten. Wilson makes Wisconsin better and more threatening, but national title contender

In terms of a potential medical hardship waiver (aka "medical redshirt") year down the line for somebody, the NCAA rules allow players to participate in the first 30% of the season, rounded up, and still be eligible for another full year of football if they have a season-ending injury in the first half of the season. So making the CCG (and a bowl game) would mean that game 5 would still be in the first 30% of the season for those purposes. Refer to NCAA bylaw 14.2.4.3.6. which was revised in April, 2008.

.30 times 14 = 4,2 games, which would get rounded up to 5.

So from one perspective, game 5 would not only be in the first 33.33%, it would actually be in the "first 30%" of the season.

So "all of the sudden", your math isn't as bad as my improper use of an idiom in this sentence. :wink2:

Make fun of Faith Based math all you want... :pissed:

Post it like your voting in a Chicago election, early and often.
