Question: How does this bare even the remotest resemblance to the uniforms worn by the 1961 Buckeyes?

Oh, that's right, beyond red and gray it doesn't. It's just there to make money for Nike.

I wish Gene Smith had a pair of balls.

Question: Who claimed that these uniforms bore even the remotest resemblance to the uniforms worn by the 1961 Buckeyes?

Oh, that's right, nobody did.

I wish Buckeye "traditionalists" had a collective IQ in triple figures. The Buckeyes changed uniforms pretty much every year during the "traditional" 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

Give it a fucking rest.

yeah, it's just crazy to think that a tribute uniform might be paying tribute to the uniform worn by that team.

I'm sure the nearly identical helmet is just a wild coincidence.

or that Nike ALWAYS ruins their designs by lazily regurgitating the designs across many schools in one year so people recognize the Nike brand instead of the schools. before excuses like seam lines were used. this time they ruined what could've been a great tribute helmet by giving Georgia the helmet first

yeah, intellectual prowess is needed here, what with labeling any contrary viewpoints as suited for an Amish lifestyle. the irony of that couldn't be any richer.

then they would have plenty to choose from, instead of making up uniforms and using a particular team as the PR spin for their money grab.
Give it a fucking rest.

They could wear pink and green jerseys with a big hairy-ass as their helmet logo for all I care. Beat Wisconsin, that's what matters.

Football is a Man's sport. I'm surprised at how many people here are worried about what the players are wearing.

Maybe a lot of metrosexuals? I don't judge though :)

What's everyone else doing for the game? I'll be heading up to the campus around 2 or so. I'm planning on going and looking at some sights around campus and visiting the campus store. Of course I'll try and get into the skull session then that beautiful horseshoe down by the olentangy!

I'd prefer that Buckeye fans direct their animosity at Wisconsin, rather than insulting other Buckeyes.

Perhaps your contrarian routine is what needs a fucking rest.

At the risk of disagreeing with a fellow old fart, I think they look similar enough. Plain gray pants. Plain scarlet jersey with block white numerals and no sleeve stripes. The helmet is very close...the red stripe may be a bit wider and the numerals a tad bigger, but close nonetheless. And the uniforms are supposed to honor the 1961 team, not be a 100% carbon copy of them. People are pissed at the helmets because they resemble the one Nike made for Georgia's tribute uniforms earlier this season.

Of the three "tribute", "throwback", or whatever you want to call them, OSU uniforms Nike has done, I like this one the best.
