Wisconsin -8.5 at Sparty (ov/un 47.5) Sat 8 ET, ESPN

So...did these guys do anything entertaining?

Crazy ending, the TD was obvious on replay. Wouldn't have wanted to be that replay official though. In any event, as long as PSU loses to someone else, we control our own destiny again, which is...well, a miracle from a month ago.

I think you highlighted the wrong part unless you think the NCAA gives us a bowl ban.

yea my bad. meant to add a sentence under that saying that the only thing out of our hands was the bolded part. also realized that in addition to that we probably need penn state to lose 1 game other than the game to us, and probably illinois?

Overall record is not the tie-breaker, as posted earlier.

Straight from the horse's mouth.

The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

a. If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

b. If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
1. The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other
2. The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division
3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, and 6)

4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents;

5. The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the BCS poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship

6. The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative

7. The representative will be chosen by random draw.

I want to offer an apology to anyone that I may have offended tonight with my posts.

No offense to anyone, I just HATE like hell to see a team that I despise win in miracle fashion.

the difference is simple as far as Michigan teams go:

#1 I hate the hell out of scUM, but will always respect them

#2 I hate the hell out of scuMSU, and have NO respect for them

Peace

but we need to be in a head to head tie breaker for us to beat out wisconsin. If we're in a three-way tie the first tie breaker is overall record, if i read that correctly. in order to avoid that i think what i posted needs to happen....but we kind of first need to win out for any of this to happen though :tongue2:

I don't think a 3-way tie is possible if we win out. If Penn State beats Wisconsin then they are out entirely, and we win the head to head with Penn State.

Unless Purdue or Illinois don't lose to anybody but us, which isn't very likely. Purdue has to beat Wisconsin and Iowa for that to happen, and Illinois has to beat Wisconsin and TSUN.

Sure it is, we win out, Wisconsin wins out otherwise (beating Penn State), and Penn State beats Illinois and Nebraska. all 3 finish 6-2.
