Game Thread Wisconsin 13, tOSU 31 (Oct 10, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN)

*&Y^T%$ this stuff indeed...

Well, I am glad someone is calling us out --- meaning, we cannot afford to be overconfident the rest of the way.

And it IS too bad that Larimore won't be there because I love the way he plugs up the middle.

I still see us stopping the run (and therefore maybe giving up a shot or two in the passing game), but I also expect another couple of picks (I know, easy for me to say)...

although we are without Larimore we will have Coleman back with his ball-ripping skills and with our quick linebackers, even if/when the wisky running backs get by the linemen our LBs will close and limit the yardage to a couple.

Now that we have some of that "Florida speed", we will negate that wisky running game!!!

OSU 37
Wisky 16

Go Bucks!

Wow I'm not upset about they think Wisconson can win but USC able to move the ball on the ground before giving up? Which game was he watching they ran 40 times for 118 yard. That's not really being able to move the ball on the ground and is definitely not giving up on it.

but Wisconsin has dominated and has had full control in all five wins up until the last ten minutes

The boys at cfn must have missed the Fresno State game. UW was trailing (sometimes by double digits) for most of that game, and was lucky to get the game into overtime, let alone win. In fact, UW did not lead in the game until the fourth quarter, and only then led by 3 points for about five minutes until Fresno St. tied it up. Fresno scored first, and led from about halfway through the first quarter until there was 5:45 to go in the game.

Wisconsin has been taken to the wire in every game, except the game against Wofford (FCS). Their opponents are 10-14 and 3 of those wins come against FCS teams [UC Davis (FCS), Charleston Southern (FCS), Montana St (FCS)].

In power ratings, they are similar to Navy on offense and defense.

Wisconsin plays a very physical game of football and they have had Ohio State's number in recent years more than we would like. Also, we have some injuries.

In my mind, they key will be our ability to keep the offense on the field and control the clock so that our defense doesn't wear down in the final quarter. If we can get 35 mins of offense, then I think we win by 17-21 points. If it's close to even, then possibly it's a 7-10 point victory.

In my heart, I'm thinking that the guys are will be looking for some payback for the injuries to Sanzo and Herron last year.

Bingo, Steve. Keep Wiscy off the field, and grind them up. Force them to pass and the D will pick 'em off (if the DL lets it get that far). The other key is keeping Clay under 100 yards rushing. I'll bet if we can do that, then the score will be higher than Steve's prediction.

Fiutak has his own style. He'll find a team he likes and ride it until they prove him wrong. Last year he was in love with Ohio State. Thought we were as talented as anyone and would go undefeated. He even picked us to beat USC after the Ohio game. This year he's gone the other way. Had very little positive to say about Ohio State. He's ranked us low, picked USC to stomp us, and given little credit to our wins. Just the way he is. He'll jump back on the bandwagon at some point.

No, you just have to understand "Bielemaball", which consists of the ability to control the game from behind on the scoreboard. It's a very complicated concept, and not many understand it outside of Wisconsin and the CFN staff.
In fact, when OSU takes a 3 TD lead, don't be surprised to see ESPN cut to a shot of Bielema on the sidelines wringing his hands together in his best Mr Burns impression....."Exxcellllennnt"

I'm not convinced that Wisconsin is that much better than their 2-6 conference team of last year...
QB play is better, Clay is better, but the rest of the team is pretty much the same. Defense is actually worse. And, they still have Bielema.

Here's the thing they missed in that article:

Wisky will only be able to keep "pounding the ball" if they stay in the game. Unlikely. tOSU has the weapons to get out of the gate quickly and, more importantly, MAINTAIN. It wouldn't shock a soul for Wisky's secondary to give up some early plays in the passing game, don't underestimate Sanzo looking for some revenge. Also, Tress has shown quite the edge in the last few games, letting the team stomp on opponents throats at the end of games. Anywho, if the Bucks can get out of the gate quickly, Wisky won't be able to "pound" our line at all. Plus, there is no indication that would even be effective. Navy, USC, Indiana...those are all capable rushing teams, the issue was that we are able to fill any and all gaps that the back would have. With Rolle, Homan and Co patrolling the intermediate areas, and Cam and Thad pusing everything to the middle...I just don't see Wisky having much, if any success. I again see a game in which we are well ahead at the break, maybe a 31-7 game or so. Not saying we should be overconfident as Wisky teams are tough, but still, I feel they are overmatched this week. We aren't Wofford.

O MOTHERFUCKING H! IS IT GAMETIME YET??!?!!??
