Definitely try the Au Bon Climat, very good... but then again, I worry that my tastes may be far off of everyone else's.

Jim Clendenon's a great guy. We share a couple of distributors and have gotten drunk at the same trade tastings. He is one of the most true winemakers in CA. When he talks about making Burgundian style pinot and chard, it's sincere as opposed to the countless Napa jackasses out there paying lip sevice to the term "Burgundian" while trying to turn everything into an Australian clone.

Haven't tried that one. The label doesn't look familiar. Let me know how it is!

Drank it last night. Neither the wife or I were overwhelmed, but it's definitely got a little more going on than many wines in its price range. It didn't overcome my wife's general preference for pinot noir and Italian reds, or mine for zinfandel, but a friend of ours who's not a big wine drinker really liked it. Worth a shot IMO since you like Spanish reds.

Great, thanks!

Sushi - are you familiar with Ole Imports? Don't know if there's a distributor near you, but they specialize in importing Spanish wine. I'm kind of stuck on German whites and Italian reds right now, but my brother gave me a bottle of their Portal for Christmas, and it was interesting.

Wow, one of our very own BP members owns an importing company focusing on Spanish wine, and you send poor Sushi looking for one of his competitors. Oh, the betrayal:eek:

Oh, I'm certainly not turning my back on BP wine folks. I doubt there's much question as to where I buy all of my wine...

Sushi, however, lives far, far away. :(

You seem to suggest we have a second resident wino here other than the Baron, though. I was unaware... my apologies.

See Sushi sending someone to Anderson's in Dublin looking for Merlot a few pages back.

:wink2:

Who let these girls out of the kitchen?:)
