Encountered my first problem. I think one of the drivers for my graphics card isn't working too well with Windows 7. My screen randomly turns black sometimes and resets, then a message pops up. I'll copy and paste the message here next time it comes up, hasn't happened yet today.

Pretty annoying. Googled and there was no fix that I could find (yet).

Apple's OSX would be really great. Except, none of the shit I need to run on a regular basis will run on any Apple OS; Windows is required. And the Mac versions of most important software (MS Office; Adobe Acrobat) are so minimalized that you might as well just use shareware. Except that Mac shareware is really crappy.

So basically, like Maximus says, OSX is a really pretty paperweight for me. :so:

The error I was talking about..

"Display NVIDIA Windows Kernel mode driver, version 186.03, has stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

Sucks. No fixes from what I've seen on Google (yet). Any of you guys have ideas?

I'm supposedly getting a Tablet PC for grad school, so I'm not upgrading my current laptop now. But the girlfriend's new laptop has windows 7 and I love it. Ahh well I guess I'll just wait. :(

I just upgraded from Vista. I actually did the upgrade, not clean install (I figured if it didn't go well I could do a clean install). Took about 2 hours or so, and went well. Overall, it is faster on startup. I have about 15-20% more memory free. The OS does use less hard drive space. The rest of the updates seem rather minor. I honestly do not like the new taskbar for one reason, it highlights the program icon you are using. For me it just sticks out and is annoying. I tried to look up how to turn it off, and there are others with the same issue but no answers I could find. In the mean time I just hide the taskbar. I would prefer not to, but oh well.

Snap feature is alright. I don't see myself using shake much. Overall it seems pretty good, and the upgrade went well. Hopefully the reduced battery usage is true. Overall worth the $50 upgrade price I paid, but not worth more than that.
