Just curious, what is your main reason for placing Eddie ahead of Mo?

1995 comes to mind. Even if we accept that Mo's 2002 was stellar, and even if we accept my raw talent rant... Eddie's 1995 was better, and he wasn't short in the talent dept.

The only knocks on '95 are no NC, he ran behind arguably the greatest o-lineman in college football history, and had great receivers around him to take the pressure of the run game. His 1995 year was clearly better but I think a lot of that has to do with him being healthy while Mo wasn't. Eddie was very talented but I just don't put him up there with Maurice. If you ask me who did more for the university or who had the better career, then Maurice isn't even in the top 10. But how I interpret the question is who was the best player on gameday and I give the nod to Clarett.

Clarett wins in:
1. Beating Michigan
2. NC's
3. Temper tantrums
4. Three fumble games
5. Controversial ESPN covers

So, Eddie wins 10 to 5. Then throw in that Eddie did beat Michigan in a solid 2004 season, and he beats Mo hands down.

Also, if you ask me, there's a certain "sentimental" part of this vote. If Eddie walked to midfield, the place would erupt into an "EDDDDIIEEEE" chant. If MoC walked to midfield, the cops would be chasing him.

Ummmm, no offense, but so what??? Eddie's 314 projects to 4,396 yards over a 14 game schedule. Last I checked on Eddie, he didn't make it to that many yards (or games) in 1995. And the last time I checked on MoC, he ended up with under half of 2800 yards and his wardrobe has changed significantly.

Byars was certainly a stud, and no doubt did it longer than one season for the Buckeyes and I will never forget watching him run out of his shoe, but I too had to pick Mo C to go with Archie and Eddie. Mostly because of how integral he was in the NC game. Without his stealing the ball back on the INT by Sean Taylor, who knows what happens in that game. Too me, that coupled with his play during the season, deserves a spot in the conversation of all-time great Tailbacks for the Bucks.

I can't even believe that we're having a debate about MoC being listed among the greatest Ohio State running backs.

1) He played for 1 season
2) He was injured for a good part of it
3) He was a scumbag who tried to drag this university down with him

If we want to have a poll about the most tragic, waste of talent that ever put on a Buckeye uniform, by all means include him.

Personally, I think it's an insult to everybody from Chic Harley to Hop Cassady to Matt Snell to Archie to Eddie to Beanie Wells, including every 4th string walk-on practice player throughout the years that he's even being debated as one of Ohio State's greatest.

WSU finished in the top 5 in rush defense in '02... i forget how good Illinois was on D in '95...

slow down there, tough guy. i have a #27 jersey in my collection, but there ain't a #13 in there. i voted for Archie, Keith and Eddie. go back and read my post in context. my post was more a statement of how good he was those first couple games when he was completely healthy.
