Homan has proven in his short playing time that he doesnt miss tackles. One of the best things I ever heard someone say about A.J. Hawk is that "once he hits you, you're down." Same thing with Homan without AJ's otherworldly athleticism, yet. Homan's frame is perfect for a LB and his nose for the ball sets him apart.
Curtis Terry brings the wood every single play. He's built a little top heavy in my opinion which could be a negative in playing the pass. He is built perfectly for a FB which is probably one of the reasons the coaches have him in there. Curtis is perfect for the goal line, offense or defense. A total battering ram. For an every down LB'er you have to go with Homan starting out.
Thaddeus Gibson might just see some time at OLB during a flex defense period where we switch from 3-4 to 4-3 looks with him rushing the passer alot or picking up coverage out of the backfield to use his speed and height.
Rolle just needs a little more seasoning. His height hurts him a little but his heart is maniacal. He hits like no one else and they stay hit.
The younger guys have to wait their turn. Thats the way it is at Ohio State and thats the way its going to stay. Theres so much freakin talent on this defense that its unreal! I dont remember a deeper defense ever and the classes just keep pouring in. You gotta love it!
