Who would you rather play in the BCS Championship Game?

I think OSU and USC would be the best game.

You and the Rose Bowl committee... this will be interesting.

Amazingly, Stewart Mandel is still underwhelmed by LSU

SI.com - Scorecard - College Football Blog: Championship Saturday Observations, Part II

So Les Miles delivers the SEC title his heavily talented team was predicted to win coming into the season. LSU will head to the Sugar Bowl. I still think, however, this season should be considered a disappointment in Baton Rouge.

To be honest I don't care who we play. I'm glad we're in. Having said that though one thing that really bothers me is the the media and so called experts are only saying that either LSU or USC are going to play us in the NC game. What happend to Virginia Tech? Here's the way I see it......Va tech won their conference and as of today were ahead of LSU in the BCS. LSU beat a team that was something like 18th in the BCS standings while Va Tech beat a team who was 11th. If they beat a team that was better than the one that LSU beat and they were ahead of them in the standing to begin with how are they going to drop? I know that LSU and Va tech played head to head but it was at LSU and it was like the 3rd game of the year. LSU lost 2 times to I believe unranked teams at the time. Va tech lost to LSU when it was a top 5 team and to BC when it was ranked in the top 3. How are losses to 2 top 10 teams worse than 2 losses to unranked teams. Let alone the fact that Va tech played and beat 6 ranked teams.....more than any team in the nation. By comparison, USC has only 2 or 3 wins over ranked teams. Look I personally can't stand USC, Va Tech, or LSU. I'm just bothered that everyone seems to think Va Tech doesn't deserve to be mentioned. It just doesn't make any sense to me. I think if anyone is deserving it would be them. GO BUCKS!

No way Virginia Tech gets in after being lambasted by LSU 48-7. I think it probably will be LSU. If you want to go with non-conference winners, Kansas and Georgia are worthy. At the end of the day, the computer is probably going with LSU having lost both games in OT and winning their conference. Sets up nicely for a New Orleans game also. To answer the thread question, it's hard not to want some revenge on the SEC, alright... impossible!

Check out this moron.... MSNBC link
A Tiger-Sooner showdown in New Orleans would leave five teams on the outside looking in, but they really only have themselves to blame.
Dumb ass says it's explainable that Oklahomo loses two conference games then has memory lapse when he let's loose this gem!!!

How about Ohio State? Well, when your most impressive victory outside Big Ten play was against four-win Washington, you must go undefeated in that conference. The Buckeyes did not.
How do these meatballs keep their jobs???? :shake:

1 and 2 lost, 3 and 4 move up...period. So IMO Georgia!

All the delegating by LSU,USC, Vtech, and whomever thinks they should be in the BCS National Championship is falling on deaf ears. If the voters give LSU a Home Game for the national Championship is a atrocity.

I think the "easiest" match would be against Virginia Tech, they are a good football team, but I just don't think they are as good as LSU or Georgia. I would much rather play LSU or Georgia so we can have another chance to beat an SEC team. I think we will end up facing LSU over Georgia as of now. Either way I am happy we get to play in the title game.

WE'RE IN!!!!!!!!!

Really thats all that matters.

Personally I think playing Georgia would be the best of both worlds cause we'd get to kick some SEC ass on the way to a championship! Bring on the Dawgs!

:oh:

Let the begging begin. Last year it was Urban Meyer whining to be #2. This year it's Georgia's Mark Richt. He was on ESPN this morning stating their position to be #2. Hold on to your hats boys & girls, this is goint to become VERY ridiculous theatre. I trust it won't become a distraction for our buckeyes.

Tellshow's Take

Tellshow has the top 4 projected thusly:

1 - Ohio State
2 - Virginia Tech
3 - LSU
4 - Georgia

Now, Tellshow is normally pretty good at these projections - but is far from infallible. Especially when the relative margins are small. Last week, for instance, Tellshow over-rated LSU's projected position in the coaches poll. At that time it resulted in a projected 5 spot being reduced to the #7 slot in the BCS.

This week, the margin for error in Tellshow's projection is razor thin.

Virginia Tech is projected to an overall lead above LSU of just 0.02 points in the computer polls. Also, the projected Coaches Poll and Harris Interactive rankings are flipped, with Coaches having VT at 2, LSU at 3, HI having LSU in the 2 spot.

As few as 7 Coaches votes, or 15 HI voters flipping from VT to LSU would overcome a 0.02 edge for VT in the computer polls.

If the computer polls are actually even closer, say 0.01, then all it needs is 4 Coaches and 7 HI voters to flip.

Highly Volatile.
