"Who am I?" (Buckeye players edition...let's play)

Me confused.

Thought the reason why they were called Super Sophs was because they were ineligible to play as freshmen -- hence the likes of Rex Kern, Jack Tatum and John Brockington got tagged "Super Sophs" in 1968.

Was there a freshman team at the time? Freshman couldn't play on varsity, but played with and against other freshmen? I don't know the answer, but I'd guess that the RB on that team of "Super Sophs" would be the answer.

Back then, freshmen played on the Freshman Team. They generally played the Freshman team of whoever the varsity's opponent was that week. Games were usually played on Friday afternoons as I recall.

Another hint, the guy did not play running back after his freshman year.

Well John Brockington, Leo Hayden, and Larry Zelina were the "super soph" running backs. Bruce Jankowski, a receiver, and Jan White, a tight end, were other offensive stars.

I'll guess Jan White. He problably had the size to play running back.
