White Sox 2006 season thread

Its going to be tough. Since the make up game against the LAAofA is Monday the 7th, the sox will play 24 straight games starting this friday. I can not stress how HUGE this month is for the White Sox. Minnesota is starting to sputter out, which they should no one can stay that hot. I also think the Tigers will have a less than stellar August. If the whitesox can get to 1-2 games back going into the last month, WATCH OUT!

GO SOX!!

I havent heard anything official about the xray. I do know that they said it wasnt hurting him that much once he came into the clubhouse. I would expect Ozzie to sit him today and get him two days rest before the marathon of August begins.

from the sun-times this morning...

SI polled 391 major leaguers about who would win the world series and 32% picked the White Sox. THe poll was taken last month and you couldn't vote for your own team. The tigers were second at 30% and the Yankees got only 1%

I'm curious to know how much that would change if they did it today. Sox probably couldn't get 20%

Has the Javier Vazquez deal turned into a bad move? I told myself at the beginning of the year 'if Javier Vazquez doesn't at least START to look like the pitcher he was in Montreal, we've just spent another year hamstringing the development of Brandon McCarthy.' Well, Javier Vazquez appears he'll never regain that form, and it's a shame. I was surprised we couldn't move one either he or Freddy Garcia (probably because most major league GMs believe like I do, that Freddy Garcia's lost it). Remember who came in and helped the Sox stay on track down the strech last year? Brandon McCarthy. I believe he was 3-1 with a 1.69 ERA in 5 starts after the break last year. That's what made me more shocked than anything with Kenny acquiring Vazquez. I like that Kenny Williams is always wanting to do something, but sometimes he worries me, creating problems where there isn't one. Like, who didn't know Keith Foulke for Billy Koch and a player to be named later (Kenny's just lucky Neal Cotts happened to be the PtbNL) was going to be a disaster? I hope that his wanton wheeling and dealing doesn't hurt the development of our farm system players.

still can't finish the sweep. frustrating 9 back of the tig's now but 1/2 up on the yankmes and bosox

It is frustrating to watch this team not be able to complete a sweep but they are winning the series which is key. They do need to start looking at every game as a must win, especially the next 3 weeks.

Are you still in for tomorrow? Or would you rather go Thursday?

Red Sox are losing to KC too...bonus.

We need to get a win like this and get something going...we have to put the fear and pressure back into some people with a streak of some kind, or at least with a series of series wins.
