White Sox 2006 season thread

Garcia does not have the velocity he had last year. He has lost 4-5 mph. That is not a good thing. 2-7 against the top 3 teams in the AL should be a wakeup call.

I agree. Who cares if he can pitch 7 innings if we're down 7-3 when he leaves in the 8th...I just don't know who they'd be able to get at this point that would be better.

This team doesn't seem to have the balls of last year's in the big games. I don't know, maybe that's just me, but they can beat up the Royals and Orioles and put 15 or 20 up on the bottom-feeders, but when the big games against Detroit come up, they just don't seem to have that same swagger.

I feel the same way you do, but remember if it weren't for the last two weeks you wouldn't be saying this. they killed detroit earlier in the year, and were coming up with all the big hits when they needed them. IMO it's not time to panic... YET

I already pushed the panic button. On a side note, tonight is MULLET night. Should be interesting viewing at the game.

mullet night is hillarious to watch on tv. they show more mullets than baseball. on a side note, i just saw the WS trophy in person. it was pretty sweet. i was surprised though because it wasn't roped off or in a case it was just chillin on a table with a backdrop of the stadium behind it. when i saw the stanley cup it was in a huge glass case and roped off.

This vazquez thing is becoming a broken record. Maybe one run given up until the 5th or 6th then BANG, meltdown. It's gotta be in his head. Especially giving up two gopher balls in a row. That is shit! :pissed: How long til Garland starts again!?

You guys notice that the Sox skid started right about when Brian Anderson started hitting the ball? Not that it means anything, just saying he can go back to hitting 160 if the Sox start winning again.

You know what would be fucking special? If Guillen got off his ass when his pitcher was in trouble and made a move BEFORE the fucking ball went over the fence.

Can't wait till tomorrow where we'll have a lead only to let Buehrle stay in 1 inning too long and serve up a long one to some fuck who can't even spell bat.

BN, it's becoming such a broken record even I called it last night. I turned to my roommates girlfriend (big sox fan) and said in the top of 7, "it's about that time" she says for what. i say "the 6th 7th or 8th inning meltdown" right afterwords jose gives up that single up the middle and the rest is history. Have you noticed how Thome and Konerko's homeruns seem to be 1 run homers lately? :smash:

Buehrle starts things off his usual way.
1st and 3rd with no outs after Dye makes Silva throw 9 pitches, Pierzynski makes him throw 9 more and grounds to 3rd for the out at home.
No runs are scored.
Mackowiak makes the 3rd out on the first fucking pitch.

So here's how the rest of the fucking season will go for Chicago:
When Contreras pitches: 6 or 7 good innings, left in 1 inning too long, big inning by the other team late in the game with no chance to rally. Loss.
When Beuhrle pitches: Blows the game open in the first 3 innings, Sox can't make up the difference. Loss.
When Garcia pitches: Throws 8 innings, with 1 bad one mixed in there somewhere to make it a worthless outing. At least the pen never blows it for Garcia. Loss.
When Garland pitches: Pitches a hell of a game, we either squeek by 2-1 or the pen blows it for us. Win 60% of the time.
When Vazquez pitches: See Contreras, only cut 2 or 3 innings off the max.

We might as well trade Jenks for a fucking starter. They way these starters play, we only need him 1 every 5 games anyways.

Dye, AJ, and Crede are the only 3 that know what the fuck is going on. Iguchi is excused only because (surprise, surprise) we aren't playing the full line up AGAIN and he has the day off.

Pods goes up there with 1st and 3rd and AGAIN swings at the first pitch. As little baseball as I played/know, I know not to let the pitcher out of a jam with the first pitch of the AB.

I was going to say "oh well, at least it's tied", but......... :smash:
