what was your 40 time when you played football??

few are as fast as they think they are...

this article documents how bogus NFL combine times are because they are hand timed, not electronic timed.

http://www.usoc.org/11611_32384.htm

highlight: Ben Johnson's world record 100 meter time at the Seoul Olympics has been broken down into segments by expert analysts. he was full of steroids (for which he was busted), running on a track with a slight tail wind , running for Olympic gold with six of the fastest men in the world chasing him. and he was wearing spikes. his time, done electronically (of course) was ....

a 4.38.

at the Combine last year Matt Jones, 6-6 and 240 pound QB, ran a 4.37.

hmmmm.... what's not right about this picture?

bottom line: if it isn't e-timed the time isn't worth much.

Wrong

The combine times are electronically timed.

The article was talking about how some recruits won't do their times at the combine, but at college camps were the times are hand timed. Possibly giving them a better time.
