Most people though have it so they can manage all of their contacts, appointments, calendar, email, and phone with one device. But they can still do more than that. It either has Palm OS or Windows Mobile, so there is going to be an office suite on it to for any documents. There's an SD slot for all of the files of any kind you need/want to carry with you. It's your mp3 player if you want, video device and many other things. It's a very powerful little device if used to it's full potential.

Ok I am thinking of getting the wife and I a cell phone, strictly for minimal or emergency only calls. don't need texting, pic caller ID or anything else.
What does anyone in here recommend? think cheap lol

Cheap! Effecient! No phone plan! No limited hours! Can be recycled as any number of things!
