What kind of cell phone do you use?

black razr, piece of shit....2nd razr they are not very durable.

I think Motorola phones are generally constructed cheaply and poorly. Brittle plastic, thin metal, and flimsy hinges. My Samsung phone is the same size/profile as the RAZR, and it's much sturdier.

Seriously, though, great speaker phone and a TON of features that were way before their time. Big and ugly, but virtually indestructable. Charging issues?
Nope. I loved my Timeport. I got six years use out of it which included taking it all over America and back when I used to travel for business. I abused that thing like you wouldn't believe -- never once gave me an issue.

I dn't care a whole lot about bells and whistles on my cell phone. It calls people and can snap a picture if need be.

A PDA on the other hand, should be pimped out
I have a free LG phone that came with the plan...but yes, my PDA is all that it should be.

I'd like to have a step up on the phone just to have bluetooth, but that's it. I don't need anything else on my phone except for a phone. (Unless of course I can get a Treo paid for as a business expense, then I'd probably go for that to combine the PDA and phone)

Just got them 3 weeks ago,LG VX8600 they are similar to thr Razr but a little nicer,in my opinion! I have the new every 2 year plan! It replced the LG VX5100 which was nice, just a little bulky!
Replaced the wrecked car as well, with a 2006 Chevy 2LT HHR!

My e815 has held up very nicely.

Don't confuse RAZR's with most Motorola phones. They aren't that bad for the most part, but RAZRs blow.

HTC TyTN (link)

It's a good phone and a good PDA, I really like the slide out keyboard. Saves me a lot of time and I can work on the keyboard, taking notes or setting appointments in Outlook, using the speakerphone. Only a 2 megapixel camera and video but that resolution is good enough, if I need more I would use my Sony Cybershot.

FWIW, my last two phones have been excellent, and both have been Motorolas.

My last non-Motorola phone was a Nokia that I had between 98-99. At least back then, up until maybe 02/03, the Nokias had a horrendous problem with the plastic finish flaking off and the faux chrome finishes turning black and white like cheap plastic hobby models. I don't know if this is still an issue, for as far as I'm concerned right now, I'll never buy something other than a Motorola -- they've won my business.

Hell, even my wife has had her RAZR for over a year and she hasn't broken hers yet, and she's a klutz!

Lots of reasons, some good, some not so good. Some people may just want it because they just have to have the latest technology. Most people though have it so they can manage all of their contacts, appointments, calendar, email, and phone with one device. But they can still do more than that. It either has Palm OS or Windows Mobile, so there is going to be an office suite on it to for any documents. There's an SD slot for all of the files of any kind you need/want to carry with you. It's your mp3 player if you want, video device and many other things. It's a very powerful little device if used to it's full potential.
