hard to choose only one in a lot of cases, so i say choose one from a group that you can create of your own. i am a speed freak when it comes to cars so this is interesting.

for pure sound: ferrari F50 or old 360 spider.......the note of those cars is simply sex on wheels.
a realistic reasonably priced roadster: an S2000 or new solstice GXP. the S2000 really winds out and has a nice driver feedback to it.
realistic car i want to pursue down the road: C? Z06
unrealistic car i want to pursue: maybe one of the pure sound cars
best daily car: one of the BMW M-series cars would keep me happy
classic: hmmm at the moment an eleanor styled 67 GT500

what i can afford right now: a ticket to go watch fantastic four:(

The simple answer is none. I love not needing a car. I have a Zipcar membership for short term needs once or twice a month.

If I find myself needing a car in the next couple of years: an Audi A3: 0 to 60 in around 6 seconds, all wheel drive, tons of space for the dog and 30+ mpg on the highway

If I find myself with an extra couple of 100K burning a hole in my pocket: a Ford GT40 or an Aston Martin convertible.

I have a 'paid for' car. I like that.

Other than that, I'd like a car where the top went down. I've owned three rag tops: 67 Camaro, 74 TR-6 and a 94 Miata and I wish I owned at least one of them right now. especially the TR-6 so I'd have something to cuss at. Man those Brits know how to build an unreliable car!
