What kind of car do you drive?

Well I'm waiting for current lease... I haven't been in "high end happy hour" territory. HP is great and all, but it's not much of a selling point.
Everything in the ~55k range has HP to spare, nor are speed limits going up while cities rely on tickets for revenue. Nobody is offering stock scanners, radar detection, or laser jammers either... even if they did, it's a never-ending tech-war with police.
So it's really the cabin tech and comfort that I'm after. Followed by how well it keeps value (lower payments) and maintenance. Stuff like Audi's HUD, Infiniti's 5 trillion cameras and safety measures, etc. Having a system that internally times all the traffic lights in the area, knows when they'll be green and red, and knows how fast to go to land them... that's a big creature comfort driving cross-city. Audi's nav is apparently killing the competition already.

If it's the creature comforts you're looking for then the A6 is a fine car regardless of the HP. Grossly overpowered small sedans is where my heart is and thankfully Audi (and a few others) scratch that itch for me.

Regarding Audi's nav system, I do like it quite a bit. My B7S4 has the MMI in it. It's early gen and the updates to the UI (both electronic as well as the physical layout of the controls) is much improved since '09 (duh, right?). The wife has an Acura MDX and maybe part of this is just being used to the Audi, but I like the MMI a lot better than the Acura... both for nav and audio controls. I find the audio controls to be about the worst thing on the road. I'm constantly looking at the screen to adjust because nothing is intuitive.

One feature that was a nice surprise with the recent A6 experience was the "I'm going to stop this car because the idiot in front of you slammed on their brakes" setting. It kicked in on Tuesday AM while driving a kiddo to school. Freaked me out at first but when I realized what it was doing I appreciated it... greatly.

A friend of mine has a '12 Genesis. It's his second Genesis. That's a very nice car as well. Perhaps a bit big for me. Plenty of HP and the creature comforts are great, but it doesn't feel nimble at all. It does, however, have a "I'm gonna keep this car between the road lines / self driving" thing going for it. It's pretty damn cool. It also has the "keeping my distance from the dumbass in front of you" feature as well. I'm not sure how well they will retain their value as H is just making a push to significantly differentiate the Genesis brand from the rest of their lines. It may take a couple of years, but it'd be one that I watch should I ever be in the market for a very comfy ride.

Another that looks promising is something (hopefully) coming out from Buick. I've seen mentions of them releasing a new Grand National. I suspect that if they are true to the GN badge it will qualify under the heading of grossly overpowered... and the pics I've seen suggest that it's somewhere around the size of the Audi B8S4 / BMW 5. It will be interesting to see what GM decides to do with the cabin though. Their previous attempts in this category (GTO) have had very poor workmanship in the interiors and that's a sign, to me at least, of the care they put under the hood. And you cannot have poor workmanship with high revving V8s.

Enjoy the ride, hope you find what you are looking for!

Yea the Infinitis have a lot of the same tech as that Hyundai. It'll keep you in lane, auto braking, 360 view for parking, etc. I think Audi does a lot of that too -- might only be with adaptive cruise control on? The infotainment system is a hot mess on current Q50s... sounds similar to your Acura, though honestly it's probably worse. It's just a jumble of crap. I played around in a friend's Q50 and got so confused. Hoping that gets changed for 2017.

I'm kinda gun shy on Ford/GM/Dodge. Owned a few each of the first two and not impressed. Taurus, Focus, Cavalier, Malibu... I realize these are all "average" cars but so is my current Sentra and it's straight up a better car. Rented a few Dodges... I liked them, especially the Charger. But not something I could see driving every day.
I kinda have some Nissan loyalty after owning a 92 Laurel with a straight 6 (same engine as the R32 Skyline) ... best car before current one. That car gave me a well-deserved $800 speeding ticket and don't even regret it. So 2 best cars being Nissan... part of me wants to stick there. Throw in the incentives they offer for another lease -- need to find out if that includes Infiniti brand though.

Everything I see and hear about Audi impresses me more, though I'm probably looking at an A4. S4 is tempting, but... I'm tired of paying speeding tickets. The insurance has been out of control these years... and then I can dump that money into a nicer car. I'm gonna have to do some test driving at some point. One of the few mainstream makes I've never played around in.

I'd drive my Audi to Western Sizzlin on Underwood.
