Not doing this to be negative at all. But I agree with Eddie George that this may be the most talented team in OSU history. Trying to define the weakest link can only be done by recognizing the strengths of the others. So what say ye?

I am inclined to go with LBs because of inexperience. But I have been impressed with Hilliard and Jones, who have been beaten out for spots by true Sophs. And Borland is just waiting to get healthy while Mitchell will be developing his talents. We go six deep with players who could start at most other schools, but I don't know where else to look.

OL for me... to me we rid ourselves of our issues from last year when we moved Worley back outside and sat Booker. With Harrison and Browning you're talking about two dudes over 6 foot 3 who have it all and Borland when he gets back who I think is a throwback to the Hawk/Homan mold.

So for the OL all the pieces are there for it to be a great unit but with OL it'll take a little time to mold. Jordan is at center now after being a guard all spring and Bowen/Munford are banged up too (I think they are 2 of our best 5).

Working backwards here...

9. RB
8. DL
7. WR
6. QB
5. CB
4. K/ST
3. S
2. LB
1. OL

Definitely between LB and OL for weakest. Which is a scary proposition when you write it out.

I really wasn’t worried about OLine going into this year but the late changes has me questioning it now.

9. DL
8. RB
7. QB
6. WR
5. CB
4. S
3. K/ST
1a. LB
1b. OL

I liked your format. I made some changes as to how I see it. I have more faith in the DL but between the RBs and DL that is just a coin flip. I think the QB play is more solid until the WRs show me something...which may have been due to past QB play and play-calling. My concerns are in the OL, LBs, & Special Teams. If those square themselves away then this team should be an absolute amazing sight to watch.

I like this format, too, though I will throw in a TE unit to mine. And I approached this question from a "what if we suffered an injury or two? which is weakest in terms of depth?" perspective.

10. WR [7-8 deep]
9. DL [fantastic 2 deep, depth to spare]
8. K/ST [2 FG kickers, solid experience, one could likely punt if nec.]
7. LB [5-6 starter-worthy players]
6. OL [Experienced and talented - if at least 7 are healthy, I'm not worried]
5. RB [2 elite, 2 high-upside]
4. CB [3 set starters, 2 challengers + young/hungry depth]
3. TE [hard to project, but nice mix of options]
2. S [thin]
1. QB [thin x crucial position]

Haskins and Martell are stars, but QB is razor thin.

Totally spaced TE. Good call.

Blame it on the 2 decades of underutilizing it here.
