You might want to check out Harlan Ellison's original screenplay of [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Robot-Illustrated-Screenplay-Harlan-Ellison/dp/1596870419/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1210308017&sr=1-2]I, Robot[/ame].

It truly paid homage to Asimov's ideas regarding technology unlike the film.
