Obviously this is no Fallout. My friend told me it took him like 3 months to finish that game completely. To that I say no thanks.

Yeah, I'm used to playing either online-based games that last me months, Fallout/Oblivion types, or sports games.

So it was weird buying and finishing a game within a few days. Kind of annoying to be honest.

I finished GTA's story mode in 24ish hours, but that was to get the achievement for beating it under 30 hours... I went back through and took my time in the missions, SO much more enjoyable that way.

Yeah GTA's series is great. Usually long story with hour of side missions (which are always a blast).

Crysis II.

Only a couple hours in.

This is NOT the best looking shooter on consoles. You can tell it would look incredible on a great PC, but since this hardware is over half a decade old, its limitations are notable. It looks very good, but I'd argue the MoH, CoD & BF series looks better, particularly the player models. The Crysis 2 models are pretty good but feel like the graphical settings are turned all the way down.

Gameplay is interesting. The AI is a lot smarter than most games, working together, flanking you, using cover, flushing you out, etc. The only downside is it seems like they hit glitches a bit too often, which is a more noticeable departure than games where they are always doing stupid things.

I'm only playing on the 2nd difficulty setting, which has been far too easy thus far. I really like the use of camo, armor, HUD, nanovision and other items, though it feels like the power-ups recharge way too fast. Perhaps that is due to the difficulty setting. It also gets a bit annoying to hear him announce "______ on" every 15-60 seconds when you toggle one of your power-ups.

Pretty fun game rental. I can't see myself playing it long term, but definitely worth trying out for a weekend or two.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean.

After the series steadily went downhill (Star Wars was great, Potter ok, Indiana mediocre, Batman bad), this was a very solid entry. There is a lot more to do in each level, with a fun variety of characters. The steps to move on in the level are not always obvious, which makes the game more challenging than simple building and smashing.

The wife and I have really enjoyed playing this (as a rental).
