What are you currently watching on TV?

Wow you really sold me with your honest and brutal analysis of the plot of the show.
Always did want to learn more about the East India Trading company.

But actually, Tom Hardy is my new favorite actor. Not just Mad Max and his role in The Revenant, but flicks like The Warrior and especially The Drop (one of Gandolphini's last).

So if you enjoy stories about men who are in love with their half sisters and may or may not be seeking revenge for their murdered father while defying the British Government as the War of 1812 draws to a close, all with a backdrop of his mysterious years in Africa which he visited after escaping a sinking slave ship - you might enjoy this.

And there's mumbling too. He likes to mumble.

Finally got around to getting a Hulu free trial to watch 11.22.63. Four episodes in (of 8 total), it's really good, and quite creepy. Strong performances from Chris Cooper, James Franco, Josh Duhamel and several supporting actors. The actress who plays Sadie is absolutely gorgeous.

About done with Criminal Minds. To many character changes in the last year and without Hodge and Morgan the show is on a downward spiral. Aisha Tyler is fine on Whose Line is it, but I just can't buy into her here. I think they could dump her and the new member Gupton. Maybe Gupton develops his character, but right now it seems slow. Rodriquez is a capable replacement for Morgan but they are forcing the relationship with Garcia a little too much.

IMO the 1st half of the first season wasn't all that great, but I loved the last 1.5 seasons. Very solid show.
Certainly was a little slow going, but they more than made up for it with the beautiful cinematography. The slow start reminded me a bit of Marco Polo. I think they wanted to develop the story, characters, and plot, which is why it was such a slow start. But that second half of Season 1 is intense.

Recently binged:
Man in the High Castle season II -- excellent and happy they picked it up for a third season.

Sneaky Pete -- Also an Amazon original. Out fucking standing. Apparently I'm not the only one who agrees. I read it was renewed for a second season like two weeks after it dropped.

Versailles -- Nice surprise but may not be for everyone. My mom is from Luxembourg so I spent a lot of time in summers growing up over there. Multiple trips to Versailles. Anyhow, a lot of people know about Louis XVI, this is about Louis XIV and the court as he was building Versailles. If you have any interest in that era of history, give it a shot. I recommend subtitles. I also did a lot of fact checking (as did my mom who was hooked in 10 minutes of watching). It's surprisingly accurate...

On regular TV the "Chicago" threesome of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med is a a fun watch.
Also I have started watching "The Expanse"on SiFi.
And "Vikings" is still terrific even if Ragnar got killed off. The sons of Ragnar took a huuuuuge army and invaded Britain and got some revenge on the one King by giving him the "Eagle" torture!

Not really liking the new "24", but I don't like most reboots/remakes (although the new "Spider-Man" movie looks great).

Realizing storylines are limited, seems like more of the same minus Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian.
